Great stand. Not sure it's going to be right for me in the long run given the seated ergonomics.

Sound
Sounds great. It's a stand. Nice solid click when locking into position. Beyond that, it's rock solid. The heavy duty construction leaves no doubt that it can hold two heavy synths. You could climb on this thing.

Features
I purchased intending to install casters -- the folding design is not compatible with the Quiklok caster kit and no nuts were pre-installed, though the holes are under the feet and are the right size. You can make it work with the casters, just not fold it back up all the way. Although the tubing size is standard with other Quiklok Z stands, I'm not sure all accessories would be compatible with this unit. Unit locks open and closed, making for great portability.

Ease of Use
Not the best stand for seated playing. The position of the cross bar on the floor keeps any large foot pedals uncomfortably close to the front of the stand. Likewise, the cross bar on the riser is almost right at knee height and pretty close to the front of the stand. If you sit upright, this isn't a problem, but if you like to slouch a little when doodling something out, the stand will definitely get in your way. The height adjustment does not go very low either, so with casters, you're looking at well over 30" to the tops of the white keys (about 27.5"+ without casters). If… read more you're looking for a stand for stand-up playing, this thing should rock. I don't do gigs, so I'm guessing. The highest height setting is REALLY high, great for tall players. Nice and stable at that setting too. In this setup, the floor crossbar might come in handy to keep pedals from sliding back too far. The mid-crossbar won't get in your way, and could even hang a line mixer, synth module, or other rack gear on it via the Quiklok ZM-94. The upper crossbar can work for this too. Height adjustment is very quick easy -- no screws or bolts to take out. The release levers are in the center of the crossbar -- one hand releases both sides.

Quality
Mechanically very solid. Cosmetically, the unit looks clean and sharp. There are both black and silver versions out there, but the black versions tend to be more expensive and harder to come by.

Value
Not bad value -- there are slightly cheaper stands out there, but not sure I'd trust placing a few grand worth of gear on them.
