The Forum features 100% mahogany shells made in the same molds using the same Heat Compression Process as Pearl's professional series drums. All Forum shells feature Pearl's exclusive scarf joint (gapless seam) construction heretofore available only on professional level Pearl lacquered drums. Gapless construction improves the strength of the shells and allows the drums to vibrate uniformly, unimpeded by air pockets, for warmth and richness found only in more expensive drums. The snare drum has been upgraded from steel to mahogany. The new 5.5 in. x 14 in. mahogany snare drum provides superior sonic performance and value.

The hardware has also been upgraded. The all-new S-70W snare stand, C-70W cymbal stand, H-70W hi-hat stand feature sturdy double braced legs and outstanding Pearl quality! The matching P-70 pedal features a strap drive for smooth and fleet action. The bonus D-70W throne features double braced legs and infinitely adjustable height settings with stop-lock memory.
