Native Instruments Elektrik Piano Soft Synth (Macintosh and Windows)

Four classics - one software
Elektrik Piano unites the four most beloved E-pianos of all time into one high-performance software instrument, which reproduces in exacting detail the sounds of the Fender Rhodes MK ITM and MK IITM, Hohner Clavinet E7TM, and the Wurlitzer A 200TM. To this day these vintage classics possess a magical allure, and with Elektrik Piano these sounds are playable from any laptop or desktop computer.

Professional sample engine
Elektrik Piano is based on the award-winning high-performance sampling technology from Native Instruments, making for an un-rivalled authentic playback of the original instruments. Each individual key of the hardware predecessors has been meticulously sampled to include the entire release phase and at various velocity levels. Release samples reproduce the sound made when a key is released, enhancing authenticity and playability.

Effects and Presets
Depending on the instrument, Elektrik Piano offers various effects for creating instrument-specific effect sounds, including chorus, reverb, phaser, and tremolo. Each instrument also includes a wide selection of ready-to-play presets, which can be grouped into individual performance sets for quick recall of presets during live performance using the computer function keys or a MIDI controller. Altered sound settings can be saved as new presets.

For stage and studio
Impressive sound, uncomplicated operation, and support for all professional interfaces make Elektrik Piano the first choice for studio and stage. Whether standalone or as a plug-in with multiple instances in a sequencer - Elektrik Piano combines the classic sounds of these vintage E-pianos with the power of modern computer-based music production.

Native Instruments Elektrik Piano Soft Synth (Macintosh and Windows) Reviews

9 People rated this product :

"Needs "recommended" not "minimum" system"
Feature:
Not a lot of bells and whistles needed or provided. However, for an electric piano synth, it's unusual, and very nice, to have the clavinet included.

Quality:
Does what it does as well as you could want.

Value:
Worth the price in my opinion. If you don't want NI quality, there are cheaper ones.

Desirability:
My opinion, if you've tried an NI product or two, you'll want their other products. They always sound so rich and good.

Sound:
NI products always sound terrific.

Ease of Use:
Very straightforward. However--and this is the main reason I wanted to write a review--don't even try it if you've only got a Windows system with 512 RAM. That's given as the minimum requirement, but don't be misled. It needs 1024 RAM, unless you want to use the very few voices that are designated as "small" or "medium" sizes, but then it's not worth the price. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that I don't think that NI's claim of 512 RAM is entirely honest, and perhaps the only reason to include lower quality "small" and "medium" voices is to be able to increase sales by claiming that it can be used with 512.

Support:
The activation process described in the documentation in my product is no longer supported, and if you don't have your music computer online, the activation process is cumbersome compared to most other companies. NI's activation procedure is getting out of control.

very attractive. i'd buy it a drink if i saw it at a bar.

Sound:
sounds absolutely fantastic!

samples take a long time to load but other than that it's easy
