Marshall are pleased to announce that they have taken things to the next level by removing the solid state pre-amp and power amp sections ever present in Valvestate amplifiers and are able to offer a true all-valve amplifier within the same price bracket, the MA100H. The Marshall MA100H is fully valve powered and delivers that unmistakeable Marshall tone. It are the perfect stepping stone between every guitarist's first Marshall and one of their own iconic UK built tone monsters.

The MA100H has been carefully designed by Marshall's Research & Development team using the same basic principles as for all Marshall amps; to create an amplifier that delivers something new and exciting for everyone. By keeping the amplifier simple the MA100H is able to deliver the benefits of all-valve tone and colour, while maintaining an attractive price tag. What is more, like every Marshall, it is built to survive 'the road'. So as well as making it the perfect choice for everyone's first all-valve amplifier, the MA range is the perfect choice for people who want to take their sound on tour. The MA range offers a valve amp from Marshall that is more accessible than ever before.

Marshall MA100H: Attractive Looks

The aesthetics of the MA100H have been specially designed to create a look that stands apart from most other amplifiers from Marshall, while still retaining the essence of what people have become familiar with for over 45 years. Two orange LED's illuminate the interior of the Marshall MA100H, highlighting the power valves. This effect is visible through the fret cloth where the trusty white script logo is mounted onto a solid piece of transparent Perspex.

Marshall MA100H: Valve Power And Tone Simply Executed.

The Marshall MA100H is powered using the traditional Marshall mainstays of ECC83 double triode valves in the preamp, and EL34 pentode valves in the power amp. The layout and controls are kept simple, allowing you to explore unhindered the full potential of the all-valve tone within. The MA100H benefits from separate equalization stages for both the Clean channel and Overdrive channel allowing you to optimally adjust each one without compromising the other. An extra benefit has been provided in the form of a valve driven 'Boost' function on the OD channel giving you, for example, a solo boost with more volume and gain. The Marshall MA100H also contains a spring reverb for use with all channels within the amp.

Marshall MA100H: Intuitive And Practical In Use.

The Marshall MA100H was designed with the flexible control demanded by today's players in mind but with a streamlined feature set to keep it cost effective.

Whether in your own home or gigging, setting up the MA100H's sounds and relative levels is very easy; Starting at the Overdrive Channel with the Boost enabled. This mode can deliver the highest gain and offers some real mean Marshall signature grind for effortless soloing or powerful metal riffing. Set all EQ controls and Crunch Balance to 12 o'clock for now. Turn up the MA100H's Volume and Gain to get your sound at the required level when playing solos. Fine tune that sound with the EQ including the Presence and Resonance controls.

When you are happy with your 'solo' mode then disengage the boost to give you your rhythm or crunch sound. The volume and gain of this mode is further controlled by the 'Crunch Balance', (this control does not affect the Boosted mode). The Crunch Balance enables a player to preset the gain/volume difference between their rhythm and solo modes and the key to success is the careful balancing of the Overdrive Volume, Gain and Crunch Balance controls.

Finally, the Clean Channel with its own dedicated EQ section can be set to match up with the Overdrive channel.

The Marshall MA100H's supplied footswitch assists live performance by allowing the player to toggle between settings; i.e. Clean to Overdrive, Clean to Boosted Overdrive and Overdrive to Boosted Overdrive ensuring maximum versatility.

Marshall MA100H Extras

Even though the MA range is designed as a no frills all-valve guitar amplifier, Marshall have included a couple of extra features that allow for yet more versatility in this amplifier range, ensuring the MA really does offer the best choice.

In addition to the all-valve pre-amp and power amp tone achievable, MA amplifiers are equipped with an onboard spring reverb tank which allows you to add an extra dimension to your sound. The reverb chosen perfectly compliments the valve tone of the amplifier and using the front panel reverb level control you can dial in how much you need for your own taste.

As well as an outstanding onboard reverb, all MA amplifiers are equipped with a serial external effects loop for guitarists who want to add effects units into their sound. The nominal level of -10dBV is suited to stomp boxes primarily but not exclusively. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Marshall products.

Sound: I have to say I am very impressed with this amp. After owning several solid state heads and thinking they were good, this amp blows them all away. It's definitely got the Marshall sound. You really need to turn it up to about 2 o'clock to really get it pumping, which will definitely get your ears ringing. I play a Fender MIM and a Schecter C1 (w/ active pickups) and they both sound great, although the settings get tweaked depending on what I am playing at the time. Theres just something about playing through a tube amp that is hard to explain, but I can feel it in my fingers, which I never got playing through any solid state. One thing I noticed with this amp is it sounds good upon initial power-up, but after about 15 minutes of pushing the tubes it really starts to shine. I play punk, metal, and grunge style music and have gigged with it twice so far with no problems. Basically for me its just a plug in and rock amp. Havent found any need for any extra pedals. I find it hard to put down my guitar every time I use it. If your looking for a solid rock sounding amp this is it. Throw away your solid state heads and buy this one already. Feature: Heavy duty steel footswitch included. Spring reverb tank is nice. An effects loop out the back, and the thing lights up orange which just looks awesome on a dark stage. A no frills 2-channel all-tube amp with overdrive. I like things simple and this is it. Ease of Use: I started with all the settings at 12 0'clock and havent moved them much from there. It responds to slight movements of the dials. As with any amp, it takes a little tweaking on the dials to get what you want, and with this its pretty simple. Quality: Looks to be made very well, only time will tell and I plan to own this forever. I've played 2 gigs with it in december going from my car trunk to inside bars and it still rocks. I also left it out in the garage one night when it was about 13 degrees. Brought it inside, let it warm up and played for about 3 hours. The more you play through it the better it sounds. Value: A 100 watt all tube marshall for under a grand. For some its quite an investment but I have a feeling its worth every penny. Manufacturer Support: Havent had to deal with Marshall yet. The Wow Factor: It's sitting in front of me right now and I can't stop looking at it. I'll never play a solid state again. Overall: I needed a serious amp to start playing gigs with my band. I searched all over the internet for every review I could find before I bought this. I am definitely glad I decided to buy it. It just might make your friends jealous. If it was stolen or lost (not sure how you lose a 55 pound amp) I would definitely replace it with the same.

"A Marshall for the masses."

Sound: Being my first Marshall stack of course I'm gonna love it . But it really does sound good .Real good very impressed with the tone and warmth of the reverb rather the depth I should say.it really fills the room up with good quality sound I have never had till now I'm sure there's a next step up but I can't see myself needing .EVER.Priced to own a dream.Good Amp.Thanks Marshall. Feature: Features are real basic and simple.But just enough to do .I always find when you get all the bells and whistles you only usally end up using the simple basics anyway .And this offers just that.Your simple basic all tube 100 watt Marshall blow your head off ground pounder Marshall Amp.SAY NO MORE. Ease of Use: Very easy /user friendly amp its fool proof. Plug it in and go .That simple Quality: Very well constructed .factory quality must be very hi. The equipment is top of the line.its looks mean sounds mean .This amp means bis.Its like the model a to marshalls almost everyone can afford one.Road use ready its a Marshall for god sake .I plan to have this amp a long long time .It will out last me I'm 47. Value: yes .worth every cent.
