Manufacturer's Description for Meinl CAJ1SNT Snare Cajon

To equip a cajon with fully adjustable snare wires is an original Meinl innovation and proves yet again Meinl's leading R/D status in the worldwide percussion scene. The snares touch the frontplate from the inside and deliver the classical cajon sound, which is requisite in Flamenco music. A knurled knob adjusts the amount of pressure used to press the snare wires against the frontplate. Rattling ranging between light and sensitive to very loud can be achieved through adjustment. The entire snare unit can even be turned off completely.

With its frontplate made from finest American White Ash (Fraxinus americana L.), this cajon lives up to the highest standards with regards to sound and quality.

Sound: sounds like a drum kit, not a great drum kit, just a standard sound,it has plenty of adjustment to various playing conditions a few yet to be explored by this author. compatable with many styles left out only by the lack of imagenation. by the bag to carry it to gig and jam sessions. Feature: useful feature is the very solid construction and snare mechinism which varies to degrees and shuts off the snare sound. Ease of Use: vast amount of expermentation leaves sounds too varied to mention. short legged people may experience some discomfort sitting on it after prolonged gigs. Quality: as a box gose this is light yet very strong and ridged construction quality says to the player "Instrument". Value: A value that will increase as time gose by,shure to become vintage. Manufacturer Support: company seems proud of their instruments and user friendly. The Wow Factor: no major flaws and yet no major bling or appointments. Overall: like I have said with proper care and maintance this instrument will only improve with age. I got it as a used instrument yet it had never been played. this cajon is one of the most sought after amoung players. great entry level and pro. lost or stolen it would be replaced perhape a different strike plate material.

Style of Music: all kinds easyer to list my dislikes italian opra and death metal, particular italian death metal.
