I don't plan on purchasing anything new for recording for awhile. So happy with the Lexicon for atleast the next couple years until a USB 3.0 produces a killer new recording device. This device so far has helped me get my recording groove back and obtain zero latency, additional number of inputs, optional ways to output and a sleek, organized recording setup...And with Zzounds price matching and payment options, get one today and start making music!
Sound
Using the Lexicon Ionix U82S USB 2.0 audio device for my home recording has been great! The sound is flawless, I've had no latency problems. I've had the Lexicon Lambda USB audio device for years, so I decided to go with the next step up and I've not been disappointed. The 2 headphones out has been a huge help with live performance for running click tracks to the drummer. However I wish it has a little more volume overall. That's the only thing keeping it from a 10.
Features
It came with A/C adapter and a USB 2.0 cable and software, but I downloaded the 64bit driver from their website as it's not on the software. Comes with some other software bundle that I don't really want, but if you are starting out helps to get your going on your way to recording music!
Ease of Use
Super easy to get great sounds from your DAW or whatever your are putting through it. With 8 channels (4 if stereo) it's pretty easy to hook up everything you'd need… read more for a personal performance.
Quality
Built so you can keep it under your monitor if you want for easy access. The body is sleek and made of sturdy plastics and metal. LED lights are great. The only thing I wish they had done differently with the knobs was put dashes on the tops to show where your knobs are on the dial instead of just on the side. A #2 pencil mark took care of that problem.
Value
Yes, I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a solid home studio USB audio recording device. It's great for home recording or on the road for live performing.
Manufacturer Support
never had to deal with them as their products have been nothing but solid, longevity working monsters!
The Wow Factor
Like I said, it's sleek and angled for ease of use. Masculine design of silvers and blacks with modern LEDs for read outs. It makes any small home studio look clean, stylish and ready to make music!
Musical Background:
active performing and recording musician
