About This Product!
Description
The new SP Series Stage Pianos are the performance keyboards you've been waiting for. Well-constructed and affordable, these stage pianos have everything you need. The SP Series comes in lightweight 76- and 88-key semi-weighted action models (SP76 and SP88), plus an 88-note fully weighted action model (SP88X). The Stage Pianos have the award-winning Kurzweil sounds and transmit on 2 user-selectable, independent MIDI channels. Put your music on stage with this new model of performance piano from Kurzweil, the leader in sound technology.

32 programs and 32 factory setups are provided which offer a variety of splits and layered combinations with useful controller assignments. Grand Piano offers stretched and non-stretched tuned versions, and programs with different EQ. Dual-Hardness Tine Electric Piano offers soft and hard strike samples arranged in many program variations, FM Electric Piano is provided in a variety of programs. Programs based on the Ensemble Strings include selections with different EQs and envelope response. Tone Wheel Organ programs include organ with percussion, ballad organ, jazzy organ, and more.

The SP Series keyboards also offer many MIDI controller features. Two Ribbons (used instead of traditional wheels) provide flexible control. The Pitch ribbon has a user programmable software "spring," allowing the pitch to jump back to center or remain at the value where the finger lifts off the surface. The Mod Ribbon also has the programmable "spring," and in addition, allows for different functions (software destinations) to be programmed for the 'up' position separately from the 'down' position.

Kurzweil SP76 Stage Piano Reviews

"Just a regular guy......"
Feature:
The 'Stage Piano' category leaves us with a modest interface and a better than most piano sound. Everything else is a bonus. Good value overall. If you need a real controller, buy one. This is a Stage Piano.

Quality:
The people who said this thing is light confuse me. Yeah, its light for a Stage Piano but I also own several other boards and this is actually a little heavier than a couple of them. Construction is solid, keys are nice and I like the buttons personally.

Value:
Yes, this product is worth the cash-no problem.

Desirability:
I don't like people that say, "It has a mystical force that draws me too it!". This is a great board for its category-worth the money. When I make some more money I am going to upgrade to the SP88X (but still keep the SP76)

Sound:
After picking up a used one I am discovering that when playing at 'stage volume' in a band setting (with a Roland amp and a monitor) it is warm sounding and the overtones blend well with the other insruments in the group. Now it also admittedly has a shorter decay compared to my Motif ES (I prefer no reverb), but what I am saying is it depends on your needs. If you are playing solo I can see why a person needs more sustain for some pieces. With a full band, drums, bass, guitar and three horn players this suits my needs just fine.

Ease of Use:
Straightforward and if you can read you can get it to do anything you want. It has a load of information regarding effects settings and patches so if you read the manual a couple of times you can fly without it.

Support:
Well I haven't had to call anybody and I am happy about that since I got mine used!

Overall:
Most people that write these reviews are a 'crack-up'. They want great 'organs'. Go buy a 'dedicated organ' then! Then they want more patches. Do you know what the machine has written on it? It says everything is does on it. If you want a ton of patches spend more money on a synth with a bad piano patch. Thats life, thats how it is. Are you also one of those people that want your whole studio in your keyboard???

Kurzweil SP76 Piano Customer Review
Overall:
There is so much to be said about the SP76. First of all, it is AWESOME. The acoustic piano sounds are great. I have 7 digital pianos and keyboards from Yamaha, Roland and Korg and I have to say the piano sounds on this take the cake. Secondly, the feel of the SEMI weighted keys. Dont underestimate the feel of the keys. My Roland pianos with hammer action keys are no btter than this SP76. I was surprised with how much weight is found in the keys. I love the feel. Thirdly, You can adjust the key pressure which is great. If you are lookin for a lightweight , quality built digital piano for gigging or home enjoyment this is for you. I use mine with a Behringer 300 watt keyboard amp and it is amazing at outdoor worship concerts. Also, the piano is NOT purple. IT is black - what a relief! Back to sounds, my favorite sound for worship is Warm Electric Grand ... sounds like you are in a big church with a Baldwin grand! The only thing I wish is that the bass side of the keyboard had more punch. But that is minor. Easy to use. Easy on the ears. Easy on the pocket book. Buy it
