The new iRig interface adapter is the easiest way to get your instrument's signal into iPhone/iPod touch/iPad. Simply plug iRig into your mobile device, plug your instrument into the iRig, plug headphones or amplifier to the output and you are ready to rock!

The iRig is the ideal companion not only to the mobile AmpliTube app, but also works with any other recording, processing or tuning app. Plus, you can also use the iRig with line level signal sources such as synthesizers, keyboards or mixers.

Simply plug the iRig interface into your mobile device, plug your instrument into the appropriate input jack, plug in your headphones, amp or powered speakers, download AmpliTube for iPhone Free and start rocking!

You'll have at your fingertips the sound and control of 3 recombinable simultaneous stompbox effects + amplifier + cabinet + microphone just like a traditional guitar or bass stage rig!

Add amps and effects as you need them -- you can expand your rig with up to 11 stomps, 5 amps, 5 cabinets and 2 microphones in the AmpliTube iRig app custom shop. zZounds is an authorized dealer of IK Multimedia products.

Compatible Devices
iRig and AmpliTube for iPhone are compatible with iPod touch (2nd and 3rd generation), iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPad. They all require iPhone OS 3.1.3 or later.

AmpliTube iRig is not recommended for use with 1st generation iPhone models.
The iRig adapter does not support 1st generation iPod touch models, due to their lack of a mic input.

Sound: This had to have been designed with the stock apple headphones in mind. The more expensive the headphones, the worse they seemed to sound. Bought a $15 set of over the ear headphones, and it sounds a thousand times better than through my Bose headphones. Feature: Not much there to grade. It's a box with an adapter and a quick start card inside..... Ease of Use: Drop dead simple. Plug it in, plug in headphones or speakers, turn on iPad, and adjust level Quality: It's plastic, and hangs from your iPad or iPhone by a small cable, so I'm not sure I would trust it long term. Value: If you already own an iPad or iPhone, this is a no brainer. Drop dead simple, and fast and easy to set up for late night practice or noodling. However, for the price, I feel amplitube "lite" should have a little more to it, although Garageband is only $5 and well worth it. Manufacturer Support: Can't really rate this, as I've not required their assistance The Wow Factor: Come on, everybody knows that "there's an app for that", and the more stuff you hang off of your iPad or iPhone, the cooler you automatically are..... Seriously, for the price of the irig, and even if you pay for the full version of amplitube, you are still way cheaper than anything else out there. Overall: While it won't replace your existing amp, it makes a great practice tool.
