IK Multimedia AmpliTube Metal Amplifier and FX Modeling Plug-In (Mac and Windows) Reviews

1 Person rated this product :
           7 out of 10
           7 out of 10
"Eh, It's alright..."
Feature:
There's a lot of features, just the distortion sounds aren't that good, there's Wah-Wah, Pitch Shifting, Chorus, Delay, etc.

Quality:
Like I previously stated, the distortion and overdrive sounds aren't very good, and for no particular reason, even if the string is still vibrating (it obviously needs to be), it'll just cut off when holding long notes.

Value:
Not bad, but doesn't match sounds of modeling amps like the MicroCube, and you get a better sound just recording the real thing with a microphone, but it helps get the tone you want.

Desirability:
No real "Sex Appeal," but it's a good addition if you record at home.

Sound:
The sounds themselves are a tiny bit like the Spider III, not very good, but can be tweaked to get good sounds. What I do is plug my distortion pedal into my USB Interface, then use Amplitube for the amps and stuff.

Ease of Use:
It's easy to use if you know how to set up your stuff and get good sounds out of amps.

Support:
Never had to deal with them...

Overall:
Nothing better in the amp modeling market as far as computers go that I'm aware of...
