These versatile pickups provide massive tonal potential channeling everything from the rounded rock tones of a PAF humbucker to the shimmering high-end of a single-coil. With the '70s Tribute SG, the mahogany body and set neck provide an astounding degree of sustain through the guitar, and the use of a baked maple fretboard gives extra snap and clarity.

The unique SG body shape provides both unhindered upper-fret access and an exceptionally balanced feel. The neck features a thin-to-thick profile which suits lower fret chord progressions and upper-octave solos. Adding to the overall vintage flair are a chrome tune-o-matic bridge, block inlays on the baked maple fretboard, and a grain-textured satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish.

This is a great guitar. It's the third SG I've owned and I would rank it overall below my custom and above my standard.
Sound
Great tones, bright, clean and still able to get plenty of fuzz.
Features
Love the volute (not as prminent as the one on my '73 LP custom) and large headstock. Small block inlays are nice too. Wish it had neck binding, but it is a Special. Also, the finish is nice but would have preferred glossy. I got the vintage sunburst model.
Ease of Use
Gets lots of sustain.
Quality
Excellent Gibson quality - will last forever if taken care of.
Value
This is a great value at $849. I think it's value will hold or increase due to the uniqueness of this model.
Manufacturer Support
Excellent support. Mine came without the truss rod tool and Gibson sent me one immediately.
The Wow Factor
Great looking guitar.
