See for yourself why John Lennon rarely strayed from his Gibson acoustic. The Peace model is a replica of Lennon's own 1969 Gibson acoustic electric.

Will never, ever, get rid of this guitar.
Sound
If you play the early Beatles, it is obligatory that you have (preferably a sun-burst J160 (Do they still make them?). This guitar provides a very brassy and powerful sound that is distinctive of so many Beatle recordings. Mine sounds better with age, since it is not coated with polyurethane.
Features
This is not really relevant to this guitar. A case comes with the guitar. You buy anything else.
Ease of Use
No learning curve. Entirely intuitive.
Quality
Excellent quality, overall. My only complaint is that the guitar is difficult to play on the high end, and the frets are too high. Gibson could and should do a better job with this. In this at least, the $500 Epiphone clone has the 160 beat.
Value
One is buying the Gibson name, here. Is it worth the price? Probably not in practical terms. But I still love it.
Manufacturer Support
I have not dealt with Gibson about the J160.
The Wow Factor
High sex appeal. An icon of an era.
