By combining classic elements from the original '50s Les Paul with the affordability of the Les Paul Studio, the Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker is an affordable and unique take on a legendary guitar.

The Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker takes two iconic Les Paul models and PAF-style humbucking pickups and jams them together to produce an affordable and unique take on a classic guitar.

Part Legendary Original 1950's Les Paul...

The very first Les Paul was released in 1952 and immediately captivated the music world. The Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker incorporates some of the eras most well-loved features such as a solid, carved maple top and chambered mahogany body. These tone woods allow the Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker to rock the same tonal depth and richness as the world famous '50s model, without sacrificing clarity or articulation.

Another staple from the era of the Les Paul's birth was its rounded '50s profile neck, noted for being extremely comfortable in the hand. The '50s tribute's glued-in neck is built from solid quarter-sawn mahogany and carved to that same profile for maximum playability. It also features a baked maple fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and a 12-inch radius for easy, choke-free bending. Gibson also included a 17-degree back-angled headstock for optimum string pressure in the PLEK-cut slots of its Corian nut, and a 1-11/16" width that provides plenty of room to move around the fingerboard.

...Part No-Nonsense Les Paul Studio

Since it's introduction in 1983, the Les Paul Studio has been providing guitarists with an affordable no-frills Les Paul for their recording needs. By focusing on the sound of the guitar instead of read more its look, Gibson spared elements like body and fingerboard binding and an inlaid logo to bring significant savings. That same mentality was taken with the Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker, and the result is a guitar that sounds miles more expensive than it actually is.

Loaded with Humbucker Tone

Taking the guitar to new heights of rockability, the Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker features two popular humbucking pickups from Gibson USA's Modern Classics series. There's a 490R in the neck position that's made with an Alinico II magnet and wound to the specs of original PAF humbuckers. They're characteristically smooth with outstanding note clarity and definition. In the bridge position sits a 498T that carries an Alnivo V magnet for added punch, and slightly overwound coils for more "bite" in the lead setting.

It's all anchored in the traditional '50s style, with a Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece at the body end, and a set of vintage keystone style tuners with green tulip keys up at the headstock.

The Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute Humbucker is part classic '50s Les Paul, part budget-conscious Les Paul Studio and all humbucker-backed, face-melting, gut-punching, nod-to-the-past Rock and Roll.

I've collected Fenders for some time now and wanted a Les Paul. After shopping through traditionals, studios, etc., came across these tributes. I ordered one as the price seemed perfect. Couldn't believe the quality when I received it and the sound/playability is phenominal. If you're considering one, but haven't seen it before, you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality. It's a fantastic purchase.
Sound
I've had to boost signal with my Strats over time, so usually have a Tube Screamer connected to my amp. This Les Paul doesn't require anything. The sustain is incredible, the pickups are very high quality, and a signal boost of any kind just takes away from its sound.
Quality
Quality is exceptional. Flawless body and neck. Sure you're missing the binding from the more expensive Les Pauls, but you won't miss it. This thing is beautifully crafted and the darker sides and back make it look exquisite.
Value
Ridiculous value. I'm still not certain how they make this guitar for the price they sell it for. Nothing this nice should be $850.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't used it and seriously doubt I will.
