Desirability:
Goldtop Les Paul - need I say more? Sex with strings.

Sound:
Tone Tone Tone and moer tone. You could play this baby through a transistor radio and it would still sound good. Neck pick up sustains for so long, you can play a note, go outside for a walk come back 10mins later and the note is still ringing in the room ! I kid you not. You have to hear this guitar. Bridge pick up quacks like Peter Green or any other blues great who's Gibson tone you want to replicate.Sounds great clean too.Flawless.

Overall:
This guitar has the tone of a beast in the body of a beauty. If you play blues/rock - look no further. Remember the first time youi heard Clapton on the Beano album? Or Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac? Or Page's intro solo to Since I been lovin' you? This Guitar has those tones!

"The search is over"

Feature:
It's what expect from a Gibson Historical and it delivers.

Quality:
It would be hard to get "more" quality.

Value:
If you want a Les Paul, save your money and get one of the 57 RI's. Don't waste your time on the standards etc. Play one of these first and you'll know why I say this.

Desirability:
I usually prefer the figured wood models, but there is something about that antique gold finish that is really attractive. I like the way the colors change at different angles.

Sound:
It has "the" tone, nuff said.

Ease of Use:
I've been playing Les Pauls for over 25 years, it's hard to get used to anything else.

Support:
I said 10 but I really don't know, as I have never had to contact Gibson about any manufacturing defects.

Overall:
Someone in search of the Les Paul sound can stop the search here at a descent price.

These dual-coil pickups, quieter yet more powerful than the single coil P-90s that preceded them, combined with the ABR-1 to create a guitar with unprecedented sustain and tone. The 1957 Goldtop Historic Reissue is equipped with BurstBuckers to faithfully replicate the warm, vocal quality and rich harmonic content of the legendary originals. Now part of Gibson's proprietary new Vintage Original Spec series -- the next step in their journey toward perfection.
