A Merit Series Power Conditioner is the perfect low-cost AC power solution for any rack mount system. Install an M8LX into the top slot of your rack, and the eight switched outlets in the rear panel will power up and protect all your equipment up to a 15-amp load. The M8LX features two slide out, swiveling light fixtures to provide discreet illumination of your equipment on stages, in studios, and in other dark places. A dimmer knob lets you adjust the lamp brightness to just the right level.The M8LX also features a bright red, three-digit LED voltmeter that displays incoming voltage.

With Furman's standard level RFI/EMI filtration, you'll get a quieter tone without pops, crackles, and the local radio station coming out of your amp. Plus, dual pull-out lamps let you see your rack without turning the house lights on, while the digital voltmeter lets you monitor incoming voltage.

Recording - Can't track down where that noise is coming from? Your mix sounding flat? With Furman's standard level RFI/EMI filtration you'll lower the noise floor caused by the dirty AC power coming into your console or DAW. Furman's standard level surge and spike protection keeps your sensitive digital equipment from acting funny or burning up due to everyday spikes and surges. You can even monitor voltage changes, as the digital meter allows you to keep an eye on the incoming line voltage. With a 15A capacity and nine total outlets, it's enough to power your whole home studio.

Sound: It doesn't do anything negative to my sound. It doesn't really do anything positive either, but its not supposed to. It just protects your gear. Feature: The same as the guy below me said, it really is a glorified power strip. The lights are pretty nifty, they do illuminate your rack pretty well, but I don't find a use for them. I don't fault them being there though. Ease of Use: Big button, turn on. Green light means all's good. Turn off, your whole rig powers down. Quality: Not bad. If you have an expensive rig, of course you're going to want to buy a more expensive conditioner, but if you're like me and not made of money, this is a great rack. Value: I got a deal on this but its probably only worth $50. Again, a glorified power strip. Manufacturer Support: Haven't dealt with them yet The Wow Factor: You need a power conditioner if you have a rack. Its just good practice to protect your gear. Overall: I'm gonna hold on to it for a few years until I need to replace it with a higher quality, in which case I will probably be purchasing a higher quality furman.

Sound: It doesn't make any - seriously, there;s no hum or crackly interference at all. Feature: For my money they could have left off the wimpy lights and put four more sockets on the front. The rheostat for the lights is nice - but an on/off switch for the lights would have been good, too. If the unit is on the lights are on, and they get warm tucked-away inside the thing. Consider taking the bulbs out. Ease of Use: Turn it on. Turn it off. Quality: Well built, solid metal construction, heavy-duty mains cable. Value: It's a tad-bit expensive for what it is. It's just a spike/surge suppressor - there's no actual power conditioning going on. Manufacturer Support: The best support is support you never need. Haven't needed them yet. The Wow Factor: It's a glorified power strip - but it looks nice in my rack. Has a nice LED so you know it's on. A big textured rocker switch. Two wimpy pull-out lights that barely throw enough light to see by. Overall: Would have got a 9 if it had on/off for the lights.
