Bought this guy as a knock about.... not a bad buy. The fit and finish were good (no flaws) and the binding and fret dressing was perfect. The action was low enough to buzz quite a bit, but a little relief in the neck fixed that while the action stayed utterly playable. The sound is very bright, with good projection in the mids and highs, but with almost no low end. I suspect that the coated strings that came on it may be half of the problem here... I haven't had time to put real strings on it, but I had read that the sound was a little one dimensional before purchasing, so that didn't bother me over much. The neck is fast, and comfortable for fingerstyle and flatpicking, and looks oh so cool. Plugged in it sounds fantastic, the Fishman preamp does it's job pretty darned well, and any concerns about the low end go away immediately. I'm surprised that the guitar was finished so well at the pricepoint... and while the sound isn't superior, it is exactly what I expected.... five minutes of setup isn't bad for a guitar that crossed the ocean in a shipping container imho. All in all, a good purchase, perfect for the price point, not disappointed at all.
