Manufacturer's Description for Fender Custom Shop Time Machine '60 Stratocaster Relic Electric Guitar (with Case)

Inside and out, the '60 Stratocaster Relic guitar is a detailed recreation of its Kennedy-era ancestor.

It features an alder body, '60s C-shaped maple neck, and-for the first time in its history-a smaller truss rod and slab laminated rosewood fingerboard with clay dot markers. The pickup design is faithful to the original right down to the materials and winding, producing a characteristically smooth and glassy tone. Under the hood, we've even replicated the finish undercoating and the crude pickup-wiring routing in the body.

This guitar has been given Fender's "Relic" treatment-built to show years of natural wear and tear; with nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Fender products.

Sound: The guitar is really a work of perfection. I have played a very wide variety of Fender guitars and this by far is the cleanest, purest, true vintage sound that I have heard. I do own an original 1962 Stratocater and it gets pretty damn close. Feature: I did upgrade to the 5 way pickup selector and it does allow the guitar to be more versatile and get those more modern tones you're looking for and still stay in that vintage frame. Ease of Use: It's really not hard to get the tones that everyone is looking for now a days. I know that tone comes from the person but this guitar adds a great deal of sound out of a great amp. Quality: It's Fender Custom Shop...it better be nothing less than perfect. Value: Fender committed suicide when you shot up their prices but what can we do about it? Nothing... Manufacturer Support: Haven't needed to use it but I'm sure that Fender would be on hand and foot for me since I paid a whopping 3700.00 for it. The Wow Factor: It was setup just fine and the "sex appeal", that comes from the player and not from two pieces of wood. Overall: I'm going to keep this axe cause it suites me well.
