Adding in a little extra flavor to the original and infamous 2005 POG design, this dynamic reboot features eight programmable presets for your signal -- divided into voice mix sliders and effects settings controls. A DRY FX switch allows you to bypass your effects settings when you want to, as well as a Q switch to toggle between four levels of resonance for the POG2's low-pass filter. The reset control dial on the top right allows you to program up to eight different presets utilizing the preset stomp switch on the bottom left corner.

A Symphony of Sounds -- Just Add High and Low Octaves

This pedal will get you a wide array of sounds, from a 12-string guitar-ish jangle to a powerfully resonating organ-like texture. On the left, you have your dry output slider -- then a series of sliders for two octaves below, one octave below, one octave above, and finally two octaves above. If you're looking for some beefy low end to fill things out, push the lower octaves up. If you want to hit chiming higher notes unknown to your guitar's natural state, bring those upper octaves into the mix. Having so many layers of melodic control at your feet gives you more avenues of sonic dimensions to control. You'll find yourself spending hours playing around to hear your guitar sing like you've never heard it before.

Effects Controls

read more On the right side of your Electro-Harmonix POG2 are the effects controls. The Attack slider can be used to introduce gentle swells for string-like sounds, and the LP Filter slider control dials in the cutoff for the low-pass filter, brightening or mellowing your tone The Detune slider provides some hypnotizing chorus-like oscillations to mimic Leslie speaker sounds with surprising accuracy. Right smack in the middle of the POG2 are DRY FX and Q switches. The Dry FX switch features four modes, allowing the dry signal to pass through or bypass the Attack, LP Filter, and Detune effects. The Q switch allows your signal to pass through four levels of resonance for the low pass filter.

Save Your Settings in 8 Preset Slots

With so many settings and sounds available on your POG2, you'll soon find more than one go-to sound. Use the preset control dial on the top right and dedicated Preset footswitch to save and recall up to eight different preset settings. Having on-the-fly access to eight different settings allows you to move almost seamlessly through different sounds, even if you're in the middle of a set.

Electro-Harmonix POG2 Octave Generator

Back in 2005, Electro-Harmonix unveiled the original POG, a polyphonic octave generator that enabled guitarists to conjure everything from the surreal jangle of an 18-string guitar, to rich, thick walls of symphonic sound.

The POG2 will take you even higher. Use the attack control to fade in lush, smooth swells. Tune in the second sub-octave to reach deeper than ever before. The 2-pole resonant low-pass filter now includes two additional Q modes. Slide in the enhanced detune to further refine your sound.

The POG2 delivers unrivaled tonal variations -- and now you can save your favorite settings, and recall them with a click. The POG2 just plain sounds better, thanks to an enhanced algorithm that delivers a more focused and in-the-pocket harmonic performance. And all this is now packed into the rugged and pedalboard-friendly diecast chassis.

Features:

- True bypass
- Totally programmable 8-preset memory with instant recall
- 5 mixable polyphonic octave harmonics
- Attack delay slider controls the fade-in speed of the octaves
- Low Pass filter with selectable Q
- Dry signal can be routed through the Attack, LP, and Detune faders
- Flawless polyphonic glitch-free tracking
- Can be daisy-chained with other pedals and power supplies
- 9DC-200 power supply included

This is one fantastic pedal, that does everything it's supposed to, and does it well. I've owned other octave generator/synth pedals, but this one leaves them in the dust. You can conjure up a number of distinctive organ, synth, and even cello-like tones. It tracks all notes very well, and you can even set it to where your guitar tones come through, but the pedal adds a synth-like ambiance behind the chords, almost like swells. I play in a cover band that does a lot of '60's rock featuring a fair amount of organ (Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc.) and this thing is perfect for replicating those sounds in a 2-guitar band. People wonder where's the keyboard player! If that's the kind of thing you're looking for, this pedal towers above all others.
