The DN-S5000 is a tabletop single CD Player with the world's first motor driven active platter for true vinyl emulation.
Features:
Alpha Track (2 in 1) allows independent and simultaneous playback of another track from the same disc, mix tracks with one drive instead of 2
Hot Disc lets you eject a disc during play and have it continue for another 35 seconds, you can also loop within the Hot Disc memory
3-Way Scratch lets you apply scratch effects by selecting Main, Alpha or Sampler Track as the source
Mirror Mix lets you select the same track in Main and Alpha Track and play it after a specified time delay
Clear Scratch Disk allows you create your own custom slip mat designs
2 DN-S5000 units can be connected to a DN-X800 via the X-Effect ports and operated by the faders
2 DN-S5000 units can view each other's Memo data (when connected via the X-Effect In and Out ports)
Relay Play, Program Relay Play, Random Relay Play are possible when 2 DN-S5000 units are connected together
Independent Digital Outputs (Coaxial, SPDIF) for Main and Alpha Track. Constant Digital Output; output at 44.1 kHz is possible even when Playback Speed is changed. With digital connection all effects can be output
Dedicated Alpha Track Fader Start port
Manual input of BPM values (*AUTO BPM and Manual TAP are also possible)
Switchable display of Main and Alpha Track times
100 mm long Slider for Playback Speed Control
4 Hot Starts - a total of 4 Hot Start sounds can be played: Start Point A1, A2, A3, and A4
4 Seamless Loops can be made
A-B Splice removes unwanted sections of a track seamlessly (2 points per track)
A-B Trim/Move - The A & B points for the seamless loop, sampler loop, and splice points can easily be adjusted using the Scratch Disc
6 Stutter Cue Play Points
2 Samplers (approx 15 sec. in 20Hz - 20 kHz, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz quality)
Recessed Connecting Terminals on the back panel to avoid damage
Memo Function - 5,000 Loops and Cue's can be stored internally. This data can also be copied to another DN-S5000, and Memo from a DN-D9000 or DN-2600F can also be copied to a DN-S5000

Great features for everyone! Remix artists, producers, serious DJ's will love this unit! (Features the Denons have that you won't find with the so-called TOP OF THE LINE pioneer CDJ-1000's) A/B Splice for cutting parts of a track seamlessly VERY USEFUL! Alpha Track- like having two players in one! Makes this unit a better value than any other CD/MP3player. WHY? Think about it! On any other tabletop or even a dualcd player you would have to have two copies of the exact same cd in order to mix tracks from the same album! DN-s5000 saves you from making copies of all of your media. And if you are not a jerk at your "party" gigs, meaning you that you will allow the host to give you his/or her CD to play by request, then its easy smooth mixing from one track to another on that same CD with just one DN-S5000 unit since you won't have two copies of it! This should be a standard in all DJ CD players! VERY USEFUL! Mirror Mix- plays your track with a specified time Delay between the Alpha track and the Main on the same exact song! 4 HOT STARTS/SEAMLESS LOOPS w/ A/B piont trimming! Very well built, and are pretty consistant units. All it take is a friendly user, and these babies will last a long time! Don't drink near em, or let people smoke over them at gigs! Tell to BACK THE F**K OFF!
Value:
I think I got the best deals and value over all of my Denon equipment. I think you will too, so buy a pair! Trust me, I know a lot for my age and I know I am right about the DN-S500's!!! :-)
Desirability:
It is a very apealing model and It attacks SO MANY WOMEN!!! I can't tell how how many G-D honnies were checkin my sh*t out! Actually It might just be me! :-)
Sound:
All CD Players have dynamite sound at this price!

I bought a DN-X1500 mixer (best match for a pair of 5000's) from DENON and they were very late shipping it over this past X-MAS which cost me a small $150 gig! So they understood and told GT Center to give me a free pair of HP-1000 headphnes along with knoking $200 of the mixer, so I paid $700 total! Yeah!
Overall:
Definately my favorites as of 2006! I strongly recommend that you get a pair even if you are switching over from vinyl like I did! But, make sure you understant the basics of DJing first!- Beatmatching, Headphone cueing, and playing the right music at the right time. I hope this comment was useful to you! AMAZING!!!! Hot Start points (really helpful). Alpha track is awesome (listen to and scratch 2 songs off of the same CD). TONS of features. but what i love the most is the 0.00 % pitch rate. not many people know about this. it is obtainable by going through the menu. really helpful once again. and the platter. OMG, dont even get me started, it feels just like vynil.
Quality:
AMAZING!, thats all i have to say. i love the unit, the rubber buttons on it are really really good, cuz your fingers will never slip on them, and the buttons will tilt with your finger, really really good feature.
Value:
expensive unit. not the best for VALUE. but definately the BEST OF THE BEST.

all i have to say is, I OWN 2. and my complete lineup is all Denon.. Denon S5000's (x2) Denon DN9000 Denon DN X1500

AMAZING SOUND QUALITY!!!! if u want a setup that is gonna sound amazing, get 2 Denon S5000's along with the X1500 Mixer. i bought mine about a year ago. and any forum i see about the S5000's i have to comment because i know it makes a difference for beginners.

this unit looks very complicated to somebody who doesnt know what they are doing, but when u know what u'r doing, this unit is like a walk in the park.

had a problem with one of my S5000's when i just bought it (the platter was loose, therefore it was over spinning. and they sent me a brand new unit right away
