The BVP5500 begins with two selected pairs of 12AX7 preamp valves with their own Drive-control. Suhweet! When you want to rock the house you need serious power. The BVP5500 brings 550 of the cleanest fan-cooled watts you'll ever hear -- or feel. And since bass players do not live by Watts alone, the BVP5500 is equipped with a stunning arsenal of tone-sculpting tools, including a 3-band EQ with sweepable mids, Ultra-High and Ultra-Low switches, and a 9-band graphic EQ for the ultimate in tone control.

For you non-purists, there is an Effects Loop and an Insert Channel with Preamp Out and Power Amp In connections for expanded versatility. Use the included footswitch to kill the signal to the amp, allowing you to tune in blissful silence and to activate/deactivate the graphic EQ.

"Best Kept Secret in Bass Amplification"

Sound: The sound is great, but it's "all in the wrist". Sometimes less is more. I suggest flattening all controls to get the natural tone from your bass, then add or subtract to embellish your sound. Feature: It comes with a footswitch with two stomps...one for mute, the other to turn the EQ on and off. THis amp hass plenty of features, probably more than you'll need, but it's always better to have more than you need rather than not having enough. Ease of Use: If you know what you're doing, you can achieve just about any sound you want from this amp. If you're not well versed in EQing, just start with everything flat and start (seasoning). Quality: It's heavy and seem road-capable and it looks pretty good for rack-type amp. Value: Yes. Manufacturer Support: Haven't needed to call.

"Moped appeal Ampeg Sound"

Sound: Sounds beefy, Great tone loud as F@#$!!! Feature: Lots of knobs to turn. Many sounds. Ease of Use: Manual really doent say much Quality: Hasnt broken yet Value: under 400 bucks what a deal Manufacturer Support: Havent had to call The Wow Factor: Is a mocked up berhinger.
