Add low-end punch to your portable PA system with this powered subwoofer. Sweepable High Cut and Bass Boost knobs give you added control over your sound.

Love your low end! The Behringer Eurolive VQ1500D powered subwoofer supplies its own rumble and tumble, courtesy of a 500-Watt, Class-D amplifier and custom-designed 15-inch transducer. The VQ1500D can sculpt any bottom-heavy track for the better, adding impact, punch, and overall oomph in all the right places. Try Behringer's Eurolive VQ1500D on for size in small- to medium-sized clubs or DJ rigs.

Custom-Designed Transducers

Pulsating, powerful bass is provided by a 15-inch long-excursion transducer with a high-temperature, hand-wound voice coil -- great for moving lots of air in a small- to medium-sized nightclub. If you need an even bigger low-frequency push, turn to Behringer's other VQ Series sub, which has an 18-inch woofer that has about 30 percent more surface area than the VQ1500D's 15-inch woofer.

High-Performance Class-D Technology

The active subwoofer's Class D design ensures reliable, efficient performance every time you power it up. Class D technology saves on power, reduces heat, shaves off unneeded weight, and delivers high-end, accurate sound reproduction no matter how hard or how long you push the subwoofer to the max.

You're in Control of Your Sound

Turn the Boost Frequency knob to tailor frequencies in the 40 to 90 Hz range of the spectrum, and flick the Boost switch to give your selected frequency a +6 dB boost. In addition, Behringer VQ Series subwoofers sport a High Cut dial for hands-on control of the upper corner frequency (70 to 150 Hz) read more for the unit's built-in amplifier. Keep in mind that the High Cut dial affects only the audio signals directed to the VQ1500D, and it does not impact the Thru or Output signals. Keep Input gain in check with a turn of the Level knob, and compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers with the Phase switch, which reverses output phase. You always know what's up with your unit, thanks to LEDs that illuminate for Power, Signal present, and Limit.

Quick Setup

For hooking up the VQ1500D to the other elements of your PA system, the powered subwoofer has balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR Thru jacks. The Eurolive VQ1500D has a pole socket, handles on either side for easy transport, and a rugged steel grille that protects against kicks and falls.

Behringer Eurolive VQ1500D

The Behringer EUROLIVE VQ1500D active subwoofer is ideal for adding serious bottom end to DJ and club rigs. Packed with an incredible array of professional features, this little powerhouse provides lots of low-end punch, with the kind of definition and clarity typically reserved for much larger systems.

Class-D Technology

Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps are either fully on or fully off, significantly reducing power losses given off as heat. Less heat generation means their amps don't need massive heat sinks and all that unnecessary added weight. The no-compromise design allows VQ Series subwoofers to deliver full power with incredible fidelity all night long. When used in conjunction with switching-mode power supplies, which don't require huge and heavy transformers, their VQ Series' Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous punch and superior fidelity. The resulting speaker systems are much lighter, making them easy to transport and set up.

Custom-Designed Transducers

The transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear, this is no cut corners. Behringer custom-designs and builds their transducers from scratch. Not only do they wind their own voice coils they even process the paper pulp into cones and machine their own back plates.

Take Control

The VQ1500D features balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR Thru jacks for connecting additional enclosures. A Boost Frequency knob targets a frequency between 40 Hz and 90 Hz. Flick the Boost switch to give your selected frequency a +6 dB boost. These subs also feature a High Cut dial to control the upper corner frequency (70 - 150 Hz) for the subwoofer's amplifier. The High Cut dial does not affect the Thru or Output signals, only the signals directed to the subwoofer. A Level knob controls the Input gain, and the Phase switch reverses output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including Power, Signal present and Limit.

"Great sub! (get a mixer)"

Great sub, I use it for guitar and Behringer electric drums. Also hook my phone and or laptop to it and a Behringer B110D (also great PA speaker). It sounded OK running my laptop directly to it by means of a 3.5 to XLR cable. But once I got the Behringer xenyx 502 mixer, it made a big difference. Before I had early clipping and had to have my speaker and sub volume almost all the way up to get anything close to loud. But after the mixer, loud and clear and very powerful!
