The Mixer
The PMP518M is a compact, powered mixer with five of Behringer's IMP preamp channels. Each channel sports a switchable pad and two-channel EQ for tone control. Next-generation amplifier technology delivers 180 Watts of power in a surprisingly lightweight, rackmountable design. Additional features like the FBQ feedback detection system, onboard 24-bit stereo FX processor, and 7-band master EQ section further enhance the mixers usefulness. Professional-quality Speakon output jacks can be used with the included 16-gauge speaker cables for connection to the loudspeakers.
The Speakers
The mixer feeds two Eurolive B212 speakers. Rated at 125 Watts RMS and 500 Watts peak power, these 2-way loudspeakers are specially designed to handle the high sound pressure levels often associated with live sound reinforcement. The 12-inch long-throw woofer is well suited for reproduction of deep bass frequencies, and the 1.75-inch compression driver with overload protection circuitry produces crisp highs and wide sonic dispersion. The B212's trapezoidal construction allows for versatile positioning of the enclosure. Cabinets can be pole mounted for use as mains, or side-tilted for use as monitors. Ergonomically engineered handles and lightweight construction materials ease the burden of lifting and transporting these speakers.
The Microphones
What PA system is complete without a microphone? This package comes with the Nady American Starpower dual handheld wireless system to produce great sound while cutting down on the cable-clutter. The two-channel receiver uses VHF frequency spectrum for solid, interference-free operation. While the normal operating range is 100 feet, the two fold-down, rear-mount antennas can easily handle distances of over 200 feet with a line of sight to the transmitter. Specifically designed for ease of use, the receiver features front panel LED indicators, a 1/4 in. output jack for easy connection to the mixer, and an included AC power adapter. The handheld microphone transmitters boast an on/off/standby switch for onstage control, and a unidirectional pickup pattern to focus on the desired sound source and eliminate unwanted ambient noise. A single 9-volt battery provides up to 15 hours of transmitter operation.
