The AM100 is a compact effects pedal that accurately simulates an acoustic guitar on a standard electric guitar. This Behringer product has been designed to compete head to head with leading products on the market. * 'Unplug' instantly with a simple stomp of a pedal! The flexible 4-mode switch lets you choose between authentic acoustic simulations: standard, large, piezo and bright. Two individual outputs enable easy switching between electric and acoustic guitar sounds when using 2 separate amps. They've included a status LED for effect On/Off and battery check, and you can run your AM100 on a 9 V battery or a DC power supply (not included). Feature:
Comes with 4 acoustic styles - standard, large, piezo and bright - but the difference between the four is, to my ear, rather subtle.
Quality:
The plastic appears solid and sturdy, but the clumsiness in which they concocted the battery compartment really puts a damper on the quality component.
Value:
For 30 bucks, you can make your cheap electric guitar with its cheap amp sound like a cheap acoustic guitar. Who can beat that?
Sound:
I get a nice, twangy, steel guitar acoustic sound on my Schecter Omen-6 with this box, especially when going through the acoustic amp modeler of my Digitech RP50. The downside is it can generate a lot of hiss when using too much "effect". I'll need some sort of noise reducer to compensate.
Ease of Use:
Easy to use. Play with the knobs until you get the sound you like! The "acousticness" pretty much all comes from the Enhance knob anyway. NOTE - THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT IS LOCATED UNDER THE PEDAL. And it's a pain to install. Be careful, this procedure can break the pedal!
Support:
Haven't had to call them, but at least they provide phone numbers with the product.
Overall:
I'll be using this product until I get good enough to either 1) buy an actual acoustic guitar (space is an issue in my home though) or 2) upgrade to one of the "Top Shelf" acoustic modelers

The battery is located under the pedal, horrible idea. Had a battery die while playing out. Tried to change it and the two parts under the pedal sprung out and I lost them. Good luck trying to get replacement parts. I can either ship my pedal to a dealer, and have them fix it. Or buy a new pedal. Behringer was not very helpful in assisting me on this. Most dealers were clueless on helping me get this fixed, unless I was willing to pay to ship it to them, pay to have them replace a 2.00 piece, and then have it shipped back.
Value:
Good pedal, just dont ever change the battery

Its great until the battery dies. Hiding the battery inside the pedal allows room for damage, and missing parts.
Sound:
Great pedal. Beats switching to an acoustic guitar while playing live

Horrible. I called several authorized repair shops, and no one would help me unless I just mailed my pedal to them. I need a 2.00 piece, and cant get it. I called the main behringer line, and got the same sort of run around. Will never buy a pedal from them again.

Cheap pedal which seemed to work ok until the battery died. I will never buy a pedal from them again, or a pedal that has the battery located internally
