Sound: A lot better than in-camera mics in my Canon HG20, and 5D MkII. Worse than my pro audio mics. Value: Amazing improvement to the camera sound for the price. Overall: Sometimes I need to do quick technical recording of rehearsals or small performances where large high-quality setup is not possible and is not justified. Such recordings work well for artist reviews, but its rather dissapointing to hear that nasty sound recorded through built-in mic. This external microphone is a perfectly priced replacement which makes such recordings easy to listen to.
