"Full, Round, Detailed Sound."

This is my favorite tube mic, with a rich, warm yet realistic sound that is emotionally engaging and delicately detailed without sounding tipped up or clinical. They did it right! If you like the AT4033, the 4047 and the 4050, this mic takes that great Audio Technica sound to the next level of refinement.

Although I already own the AT4060, while listening recently to a sample disc of 49 microphones (a blind listening test, where I rated the mics on female and male vocal tracks before I knew which mic I was listening to), I picked the AT4060 as my favorite. I was surprised that it easily beat out the Neumann M147 and M149 to my ears, which I thought I would have preferred.

I'm very impressed with the Audio Technica 4000 line, and I can recommend the AT4060 without reservation.
