Description
Audix Corporation, an industry leader in drum and percussion microphones, proudly announces a new solution for drum miking: The D-Vice drum microphone clip. With a low profile and a unique mounting system, the D-Vice will attach to the rim of most drums and rimmed percussion. Providing a benefit to both the player and the engineer, the low profile mount will provide precise positioning and can be attached using only 1 hand. Precision molded out of composite material, the patent pending D-Vice can easily accommodate any 5/8 in. microphone clip.
Audix Percussive Arts Specialist, Rob Schnell, says, "With the introduction of the D-Vice, the drummer's concerns about microphone positioning are eliminated. We've subjected the D-Vice to some rigorous road testing and it is rock solid. With the low profile and low mass, it is extremely convenient for the drummer and the engineer. We designed it to work with our D-series, however, it will also work with other microphones."

"Above average with the right mics"

Alittle pricey for what you get.
Sound:
This item works well with compact mics only. If you use a mic, such as shure sm57, it flops over. Those mics are too heavy. I have a set of compact mics that work great. Had this item for over a year and works well. Springs still tight,goose neck still supportive. Gigs every weekend......

Well, this is a pricey piece for it's overall
construction. It's a spring loaded type deal
w/ no real way of confirming how secure the clamp is to the rim.
also, anything w/ a spring spells certain
death somewhere down the road. Do you want
it to be at your show?
I like the Shure clamps that came w/ a drum mic setup I sold sometime ago. I wish I would have kept them.
