AKG D 40 Dynamic Instrument Microphone

No longer available at zZounds
Built with a solid metal body for years of onstage use, the AKG D 40 dynamic mic's high sound pressure tolerance make it great for drums and guitar amps.

The D40 with its solid all-metal body will stand up to the hardships of night-after-night onstage use "with a smile". The Varimotion diaphragm deep-drawing process allows the diaphragm itself to be fine-tuned with no need for tuning resonators, leading to a quantum leap in audio performance.

The transducer is protected by a sturdy wire-mesh cap and takes extremely high sound pressure levels with ease.

An integrated stand adapter and standard H 440 mounting bracket for snare drums, tom-toms, etc. make the D40 a highly versatile tool for use on drums, percussions, wind instruments, and guitar amps.

Features
- Dynamic microphone designed for drums and percussions, wind instruments, and guitar amps

- Patented AKG Varimotion diaphragm

- Custom built capsule mounting

"Sleeper mic"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have been mixing since the 80's , I've used everything on toms from md421's to 57's, to beta 98's and even more expensive condensers.....and a dozen others.....this mic is the sleeper mic that does tom toms really, really well, I love the way this mic sounds on live toms, and you won't cry if a drummer beats the hell out of it.... buy a dozen....I use it everyday on tour now.
