"awesome drum kit"

I have a misty chrome rockstar kit complete with a set of sabian b-8 pro cymbals, hi-hats, crash and ride. They make an awesome sound. I have evans heads G2. remo rings. bass drum muffler. also in the set up is some chimes. I have played the pearl drums of the same price range and there is ABSOLUTLY no comparison. If you want a good deep sounding set and not a tin can sound then you just better stick with TAMA and not pearl. I also have a 7 year old who would surprise you if you were to here him play he not only keeps a great beat but adds some pretty great rolls too. He has taken my place at our church so I have to bargin with him to let the old man play once in a while. Love these drums keep up the great work and quality.

"I love my drumset."

It took me a bit to tune them with the heads they came with (I suck at tuning), but I really like them. Hardware is sturdy. Looks really good (I have midnight blue, but I like the white better =P).

When I first got them they sounded real bad. They sound so much better now that I learned to tune fairly decently. Maybe the room I'm in affects this as well. You might want to try playing them at a local music store first and see if you like them. I had to put tape on the snare drum to prevent bad sounding overtones.

Mine came with a 5 year warranty on the shells, 1 year warranty on the hardware. I think this is standard with Tama....at least for the rockstar.

From my understanding, the shells are phillipine mahogany with outer plies of basswood.

Star-Cast Mounting System

Bass Drum Accu-Tune Hoops
Made of high-tech material, Tama's Accu-Tune hoops represent one of the most significant advances in drum technology. Accu-Tune hoops require no T-rods or clawhooks and they offer more stable tuning, lighter weight, and increased resonance. An angled groove at the bottom of the hoop provides secure pedal attachment.

Bass Drum Spur Brackets
Nowadays it's common sense not to put the spur into the shell where it would interfere with resonance. But that wasn't always the case. So it was a breakthrough when Tama pioneered the idea of no shell penetrating hardware. Their new MSB10 continues this Tama tradition with a 2-piece cast design that provides both security and easy set-up.

Bass Drum Heads
Rockstar's new upgraded heads ensure a great sound practically right out of the box! Batter side heads are now made of Dupont Mylar for richer tone and greater durability. Ring mufflers on the bass drum heads remove the need for internal muting.
