What's special about this item?

Feature: What it does:
Basswood body Big, warm midrange tones
Edge III tremolo system Exceptional intonation and smooth tremolo effects
Ibanez Axis pickups Tight and focused tone with a rich, deep sound
Coil-tapping option Splits humbucking pickups into single-coils

Joe Satriani's JS models reach the peak in ultimate playability and jaw-dropping tone. His signature Ibanez JS100 electric guitar captures both of these -- in an attractive and well-balanced basswood body holding a set of AXIS AH1 and AH2 bumbuckers to fuel your ferocious tone. This axe's JS-style maple neck, topped with a rosewood fingerboard of 22 frets, offers incredible action for your fingers to glide across. Your Adjustable Edge III vibrato bridge/tailpiece is flexible for extreme dive bombs and will securely keep your strings in tune. You'll wail like never before with Joe Satriani's signature JS100.

A Well-Balanced and Sleek Basswood Body

This axe's aerofoil-shaped body has an ultra-modern look with its comfortable curves and sleek edges. Basswood is a great choice for a well-balanced and even tone. Darker body woods like mahogany tend to weigh more, while offering a darker sound with more low-end and midrange frequencies. Basswood will give you a brighter, more trebly sound that cuts through a little bit more. A lighter wood also means you'll be able to move around more freely while on stage.

The Unbeatable Action of a JS Neck

Talk about action -- the JS neck on this guitar will make a novice guitarist sound like a pro. Your strings will hug this comfortable and sleek maple neck in unparalleled proximity as your fingers fly up and down its 22 frets. This axe's longer scale length of 25 1/2" will give you a tighter feel that bites a little bit more than read more shorter scaled guitars like Les Pauls.

Secure and Attractive Chrome Edge III Vibrato Bridge

A large part of Joe Satriani's sound is the immense spectrum of tones he achieves. The Edge III vibrato bridge will drop your strings as low as possible, and your bends can be pushed to their limits without any concern of going out of tune. Your strings lock in securely at the nut so you can staye focused on your playing instead of your intonation.

Coil-Splitting AXIS AH1 and AH2 Humbuckers

To further your JS100's tonal versatility, your AXIS AHI and AH2 humbuckers are wired with coil-splitting settings to give you a more biting single-coil sound. Your bridge AH2 bridge pickup is fitted with an alnico magnet to offset the brightness a little, and your AH1 neck pickup uses a ceramic magnet to brighten up the darker tendencies neck pickups can have.

From the moment I started tunning her up when I opened her up, I could fee the possibilities with this beauty. The gloss finish and the feel of the neck is just unbelievable. As soon as she was ready to play, she started to scream and I barely had to do any harmonic tricks. She just loved to sing and has a great sustain on higher notes. This guitar is the best investment I have done so far in my gear library. I can't afford a JS1200, but for the price I paid for her, I am blown away on how she feels, sounds and looks. Sexiest guitar I have ever owned.

Sound
The sound is unbelievable. She starts screaming from the moment you hit the first note. She has a nice crunchy tone when I use my distortions on my POD HD 500 through my VOX solid state amp.

Features
The features are sweet as hell. I'm a massive Joe Satriani fan so the idea of how his name is on the bottom of the frets is pretty sweet. The pick ups sound pretty descent and really does a great job. The only thing i will be changing soon on her is the pick up selector switch. Feels very very flimsy and it arrived loose.

Quality
The only thing i will be changing soon on her is the pick up selector switch. Feels very very flimsy and it arrived loose. Outside of that, the paint quality is just so damn eye catching and the sound is freakn crazy!!! Makes your ears bleed (thats a good thing). The action on the guitar makes any novice player read more sound like they've been doing this their whole life. The tremelo holds the notes perfectly and feels solid. I did a couple of dive bombs with her and it was flawless.

Value
Best damn guitar I have ever bought and feel like its worth every single penny. I own another Ibanez RG and an Epiphone Les Paul GX Prophesy and so far this guitar is my new girlfriend.

Havent had to call...just got the guitar yesterday 5-8-13

The Wow Factor
The wow factor on her is the screetch and sweet harmonics this thing brings out when you first take it out of the box. I was nervous of how she was going to sound considering I bought the last one that ZZounds had in stock. She started singing like an angel the second she was tuned up. I didnt have to do any adjustments out of the box. I played her for about 3 hours when I first got her and I only had to adjust her 1 more time after stretching out the strings.
