Maple neck Bright tone, full sustain and strength
Rosewood fretboard Open, warm tone and smooth playing feel
7.25-inch fretboard radius Very rounded, vintage feel
C-shaped neck profile Comfortable, rounded oval shape

Small and fast -- like a sports car! Fender is proud to reissue the '65 Mustang guitar (1965 was the first full year of Mustang production). Originally designed as a 'student model,' the Mustang was nonetheless destined for greatness, and has been seen slung over the shoulders of great players such as David Byrne, John Frusciante, Kurt Cobain, Todd Rundgren, Graham Coxon and Adrian Belew, to name but a few.

This reissue comes in great vintage colors (Daphne Blue, Olympic White and Dakota Red) with highly period-correct detailing. Features include a Poplar body, C-shaped Maple neck with 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard, 4-ply pickguard with classic control plate and pickguard gap, chrome hardware, Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuning machines with white buttons, floating bridge with 'Dynamic' vibrato tailpiece, 2 Mustang single-coil pickups with on/off slider switch and in/out phase switch for each pickup, 'F'-stamped neck plate and vintage correct headstock and bridge plate logos. A classic revived, and a real beauty at that!

Not too awful for a new guitarist who wants a Fender and has limited funds...but I'd buy a Mex Strat instead. MUCH better guitar.
Sound
Eh...heard better.
Features
This was my second ever electric guitar...bought it new in about 1966 or so. Switches and tremelo all broke or became useless over time. Not a real nice guitar.
Ease of Use
Pretty high action....
Quality
Cheap Fender...that's what you buy...that's what you get.
Value
Buy a Strat or a Tele...I did.
Manufacturer Support
Never used. Probably should have, but I was a teenager....
The Wow Factor
For Nostalgic purposes ONLY.
