Feature:
The main concern for me is a good clean sound with nice effects. I mainly like a moderate amount of reverb for vocals and Saxophone. It is also important to have an easy quick set up.
Quality:
Cosmetically it is very nice. I can't speak to the longentivity at this point. Ask me in 10 years.. By the way I always use a good fitting hard case for all electronics. I think it's a good basic common sense idea. Anybody who has any gig experience knows what I'm talking about.
Value:
very good value
Desirability:
It has good appeal.
Sound:
A very pleasent surprise. I own two soundcraft mixers. The FX -16 and the powerstation with FX. These both have Lexicon effects and are outstanding. I needed a small non - powered mixer for a Jazz quartet that I'm in where we use powered speakers. I wanted something affordable and light weight for this smaller situation. I needed on board effects. I'm use to the Lexicon effects on my other mixers so I'm somewhat spoiled. They are really good. I was all set to purchass the Mackey DFX-12 which has all of the features I need, however I was disuaded by all of the poor reviews concerning the Mackey effects. I read five or six reviews from different sources and they were all dissapointing. I never considered Berhinger products before because I assumed because of the price they were mediocore. However, I looked at some of the reviews on the 1832 and they were all very positive , especially concerning the on board effects. So I went ahead and purchassed the Berhinger 1832 with FX. I have to say I was very impressed with the sound and common sence layout of the board. The sound was very good. I've been useing PA. gear for 35 years and the is one of the better values I've seen. I don't know about the technicial support aspect of Berhinger. I hope to not have to worry about it. Ron Siegel
Ease of Use:
Very easy.
Support:
no experience
Overall:
it is not my primary mixer. I would expect to use it in small situations as long as it held up

Feature:
This has a great many features for the price, which can sometimes be a red flag, since most of the time, feature-laden coupled with inexpensive means that cheap components were used...NOT the case here, as the routing flexibility, onboard FX, aux buses, feedback detection, all work together extremely well. I haven't yet tried the USB 2.0 interface that came with this board, but I have every reason to expect it to perform as promised, based upon the quality of the rest of the unit.
Quality:
Very good build quality...much better than one would have a right to expect at this price.
Value:
Superb value...I considered many other units before settling on this and I have no regrets.
Desirability:
I'm a pragmatist...I want it to sound great and function as advertised...no complaints here. I like the compact size, though.
Sound:
I read a lot of reviews of this product prior to making my decision and one of the things that kept cropping up was how great the mic preamps are. I totally agree...these are awesome sounding preamps, regardless of price. In conjunction with the way the channel eq is voiced, esp with the quasi parametric mids, these things are crisp, clean, capable of nice warmth, since they can be pushed a bit without clipping unpleasantly. Also, the board as a whole is very quiet as long as the gain structure is managed correctly, and there are some very nice, useful effect presets with pretty good transparency, esp the large hall verbs.
Ease of Use:
Not for the faint-hearted or inexperienced. This is, in my opinion, a pro-level board and will require some background in recording and sound reinforcement fundamentals to get the best sounds with it. Also, the manual is not very complete and smattered with unnecessary plugs for the unit (c'mon, guys, I already BOUGHT the darn thing!) All in all though, I had little trouble getting crisp clean high-fi sound from this...YMMV.
Support:
Haven't had cause to call support, but I hear they are very quick and knowledgeble.
Overall:
My last Behringer product was a Eurorack 802A mixer that I bought about 6 or 7 years ago; I still have it and it functions very well. I expect that this new board will last equally well...beyond the point at which I am ready to upgrade/upsize again.
