Besides my Ken Smith, the most comfortable and punchy bass I have owned....In 50 years of playing I have tried or posessed just about every bass out there....

I have been playing bass for about 4 years and I needed a better bass. I started looking online for some intermediate basses and I found this jem. For what you are paying for it's a steal. I'd recommend it to any one starting to learn bass and even some veterans ( but they would probably stick to fender). All in all it's a quality bass that anyone should have in their collection.

I love this bass, it is as they say, a shapeshifter capable of most tones you need. A little bonus that adds SO much value are the indented pots (bass, treble, pickup balance) ideal for a clean slate to shape your sound from a starting point or reference points, whatever, totally appreciated. If you aren't a hardcore bass player like me but need something in the studio, this is it. Playing your guitar thru bass emulators can only go so far, hahaha. This bass might make me a hardcore bass player, ok maybe not, but the upgrade trbx504 is now in my slut list and it just may, bilbo, it just may...

The first bass I received didn't work at all zZounds was great and sent me another one this one barely works I get hardly any sound and lots of static. It's a beautiful bass but only good for wall art. My spector, esp and Jackson are awesome basses my dean not so much but this yamaha is the worst bass I have owned.
