"Killer guitar"

I’ve had many yamahas over the years. The rd502 is my fav. I’ve had an rs620 and 702 as well. The p90’s that Yamaha made are my fav.Rich and full of bite, yet roll the volume down a tad and it’s gets mellow and soulful...... It’s a heavy guitar...I love the neck profile. The fret work had to be cleaned up a tad but that’s because I’m anal about that kinda stuff. Overall it’s one of my favorite guitars of all time. My dry switch dyed as well but replaced it with a better quality unit. Seems to be a weak point with some of these guitars. Overall I’d give it an easy 5 stars.....playability, sound, the feel and vibe of the guitar are second to none. If you can find one...Buy it....they are getting harder to find.

Had to return mine, the dry switch cut off all signal when engaged. The switch knob was put on crooked too. Also the fret ends were sharp, maybe because it had been stored in very low humidity, the tops of the frets were very well done and polished though. It is quite a heavy guitar, heavier than I like. Les Paul heavy. The finish looked real good and I liked the matte hardware. Nice design with the back cut-aways and the forearm relief. I didn't play it much through an amp since it was defective, but it seemed well set-up. The tuners seemed too easy to turn, I would worry about pulling them out of tune, but that can be fixed by tightening down the screws on the tuner buttons.Overall a very cool looking guitar and I'm sure it would sound great with the P-90's. If you like heavy guitars and can get a good one you might like it. I would like a P-90 equipped guitar but I think I will just put Duncan Phat Cats in my HH Mexi-telecaster.. The Mexican Tele's and Strats are close to the same price and don't have flashy bindings and hardware but I think the quality is a bit better. And this guitar does not compare to an American made Fender or Gibson, but then again it is much less expensive.
