"NEVER BUY THESE!!!!!"

WOULD NEVER, EVER BUY THESE AGAIN!!!! the original speakers couldn't handle the 500 watt internal amp with hteir 800 watt "burst". Whoever designed these probably got a b ig raise from Yamaha for getting a product out there with an $800 price tag that was made from trash.
Sound
I bought 2 of them in July, 2006....not bad sounding---when they work
Features
had volume, adjustable crossover, integrated polemount---all were fine----except that one of the polemount sockets broke apart from the mounting plate after 30 months
Ease of Use
never seemed to push enough air without bass enhancement processors
Quality
besides the polemount socket falling apart, my band went through 6--YES SIX---warranty speaker replacements, and when the 3 year warranty expired, we had to replace them again, but upgraded the speakers in August 2009, and haven't had to replace them since.....so basically, in 36 months of ownership, we replaced a speaker once every 6 months. And we play small clubs----my main speakers are powered at most by 500 watts per side with no problems, so we definitely never had the mixing board set at 10. Of course now, at month 46 of ownership, one of the amps fried this past weekend (June 2010)
Value
hindsight is 20-20, but if I had to do it over again, I would never had spent one cent on these
Manufacturer Support
I was never able to get any help when calling customer service in CA, and never got any return e-mails when trying to take that route, either. Plus, it took, on average, about 2-3 months for my local authorized warranty repair shop to receive a replacement every time we needed a speaker replaced under the warranty....a total joke.
The Wow Factor
the flimsy grills are always beat looking

Returned asap.
Sound
Yamaha usually has good sounding gear, but I returned this without even playing through it because.................read more.
Features
Has what it needs.
Ease of Use
Like any powered speaker, easy.
Quality
Too akward in shape and at 100lbs, need 2 people to haul. The finish is a textured black, but the matching mains are grey and smooth and that simply does not match.
Value
Price is fair, but rather pay $150 more for QSC K-sub for portabiliy.
Manufacturer Support
Don't know.
The Wow Factor
No appeal as is just a heavey box that doesn't resemblr the MSR400s I own.

"Don't bother."

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I dumped mine. Go compare, and you'll dump yours too.
Sound
If you bother to hear this against other product out there, you would find that this speaker system does not really sound all that good. I compared my G2 15" powered eons to JBL MR925's and even a cheapo Carvin PA cabinet. The MR925 sounded better, and the Carvin sounded better than either. I have since dumped them, and haven't looked back!!
Features
OK, so it's powered. That makes it easier to hook up. And it has direct inputs, and EQ. eh!
Ease of Use
Plug and play.
Quality
Well made internally. Stupidest design on the planet.
Value
There's better stuff out there for better money. Do your homework.
Manufacturer Support
You can usually get a tech on the phone.
The Wow Factor
Again, it's clumsy, and the exterior is poorly designed.
