Sound
Awesome sound. Bright and more base projection than expected for the reduced body. Easy fretting compared to our classical. Bought it for our son and he loves it. Our son plays many different types of music. Much from the 70's and he is totally impressed with it. He owns a Gibson Les Paul and a lesser quality classical.
Features
Flamed/Tiger Maple is beautiful and the abalone is gorgeous. Quality of the zzound is awesome when the size is considered.
Ease of Use
Just awesome all around. I can't imagine another Acoustic/Electric at this price/shipping included that can produce the rich tones and is solid wood. I'm trying to put together the $$$ to buy another.
Quality
Absolutely ... lifetime with proper maintenance
Value
Definitely, absolutely, positively.

"So happy with my new Yamaha"

I owned an older Yamaha APX10 which had served me well for many years, but when it finally started experiencing some electronics problems I figured it was time for a new guitar. I lead worship at our church and my main concern was how the guitar sounds plugged in through the P.A. No local music stores carried this model so I started looking online and I had done business with Zzounds before so I was pleased to find they offered this guitar at a great price with free shipping! The return policy also provided some comfort as I had no way of trying the guitar beforehand. The guitar arrived in a few days in excellent condition. I am happy to report this guitar has performed exactly as I expected. It is easy to get a big, warm acoustic guitar sound out of this shallow - body guitar. Yamaha seems to have figured out some things about acoustic guitar amplification and this current version is no exception. I have heard a few high end solid wood guitars which nevertheless perform less than impressively when plugged in. You know what a mean; quacky, harsh, generally annoying sound that doesn't do justice to the instrument. The Yamaha APX900 is designed to perform plugged in and I am very happy with the versatility of the pickup/preamp combination. If your need is an acoustic/electric primarily for amplified use I would highly recommend the Yamaha APX900.
