I have this bass and find it a real dream to play. It is comfortable and light and has a tone that really sits nice in the mix. The build quality and hardware are amazing for a bass at this price. The negative review about this bass having smoke come out of the electronics is obviously NOT this model bass since it has passive electronics and has no battery that could short out the EQ circuit. Just wanted to clear that up.

Musical Background:

Professional bass player for 50 years. Also play keys and guitar

Musical Style:

Classic and progressive rock.

Warwick's entry-level bass is an excellent alternative to others mid-range offerings. The electronics are passive, the neck is a dream to play on with one caveat: you are going to have to finish these fret ends. The factory in China just beveled them on a machine and called it good. Like a serrated knife. File, sandpaper and patience not included. One star off for that.

Musical Background:

Playing bass for about a year. Piano before that.

Musical Style:

CCM, classic rock, punk, country, bluegrass, ska.

I bought the Rock Bass from zZounds, and it came quickly and in perfect shape. it played great! Now for the bad part. After I had the bass for a year, I was at practice and noticed a funny smell. I opened the battery door and smoke came rolling out! The EQ was fried. I contacted Warwick, and it was going to have to be shipped to Europe, and the pricing was outrageous. Oh well, I opte to just buy aftermarket pickups. I like the bass, but I won't buy Warwick again .
