I plan to have this instrument the rest of my life. As of now it is my only bass so I praise it's versatility and dependability. I'm soon going to get a fender or carvin jazz bass to widen to tone range. You definitely know you're hearing a warwick when i play. Don't rub this thing with a diaper cause it's so pretty, play it out and let people enjoy it.
Sound
I got this bass used in Nashville for $900. As you might expect the bass has quite a few dings and blemishes but all the tone and playability were still there, and that's all that matters to me since i play out a lot. I play a wide range of styles from jazz to rock to funk. What appealed to me about the bass was the wide range of sounds that you can get. It has an active circuit that boosts the lows and the highs and i find myself almost always using the active electronics. When the bass is played passive it can really growl. Once everything is blended and dialed in it's ready for anything, and the controls become intuitive.
Features
Can't beat the pickup configuration. Massive punchy MEC humbucker lays down the funk, and the neck jazz pickup is great alone or blended with the humbucker. Great fretboard. Most Warwicks are built with really hard, heavy woods like bubinga, but this has a softer and lighter ashe body and brighter maple top. Your back and ears thank you for this, but the swamp ash is dinged pretty easily.
Quality
I give the warwick a 10 in quality because i bought a used and abused stage bass with dings galore, and it still plays like a rock. I lucked into finding a deal on one of these badboys, and even though it has some character, i still get a ton of complements about it's look and sound on stage.
Value
Even at the full price tag i think this is a deal. To get the same quality sounds you have to buy a Music Man and a Fender Jazz. It doesn't nail that jazz sound quite like the classic fender, but it adds its own flavor. Great looking, great playing.
Manufacturer Support
The best support is when you don't need it.
The Wow Factor
How would I rate the sex appeal? interesting question.... A few people have commented that the upper horn is phallick. I honestly can't argue with them so take that as you will. If my bass was lost or stolen I would get another one for sure.

"What you need to know about Warwick."
I will never forget this. A company is only as good as it takes care of its lemons. If you have a Warrwick thats holding together that is wonderful...and many are out there. BUT... if you get a "Monday Morning Bass" you loose. Sounds like Russian Roulette.
Sound
This bass has a excellant varity of tone variations. The extra J-neck pup makes a big difference.
Features
This answer has to do with the Red Satin finish (the $2,300.00 model), and the gold plating. I have not had this bass a year, I only used it on ONE job and some rehersals.
The satin finish is so soft and unpredictable that if you dare to clean it (very lightly) the satin WILL turn to glossy Spots/Blotches and the would marks if you touch it to anything, the distributor Dana B. Goods said that is normal (more about this on service). I can not express the total amount of problem this is, it is ugly. The gold plating rubs off..also "normal" says Dana B.
Ease of Use
Easy to use. It is a bass with all the regular knobs and switches.
Quality
This is the biggest dissapointment of all the basses I have bought in 30 years. "Old-World German Craftmanship"...WOW..The laminations in the headstock and go down into the top part of the neck have a little separation in it. It can be seen from the top of the headstock. The customer service manager at Dana B said that is "normal", that it happens to all the Warwicks because of the".. different woods.." Did you know that. I have the e-mail he sent. This is a $2,300.00 bass less than a year old.
Value
An authorized Warwick dealer and friend of mine told me he could "...dump it for $998.00 or less..". This is a $2,300.00, less than a year old, jobed once bass. Thats what I call value?
Manufacturer Support
This is a high number it should be a minus -1,000. I forced Dana B. Goods to take this bass back for repairs (I paid for all the shipping). I got it back The haedstock was not fixed at all (remmember it is "normal), the satin fish was buffed out to almost gloss, now it is gloss with spots/blotches of satin...ugly, and it is now the top is pitted Dana B says"...thats because the would is soft..". The gold plating is buffed of in spots. Thanks for the work Dana B. I have tried to reason with Dana B. Goods and they absolutly REFUSE to do ANYTHING!!!! I have the e-mail. My "...heirloom...will age gracefully and provide years of pleasure." (it is in Warwicks manual)is a less than a year nightmare.
The Wow Factor
Sex appeal? Do you like your food half baked? Do you find bloches/spots sexy, does partially rubbed of gold plating make your heart skip a beat, and a separation of the laminations in your headstock make you salivate? Then I got the bass for you - Warwick.
