I have a specific use for this pedal, which is strictly in a recording scenario. I do have other reverbs (Digitech, Strymon, VST's) that I use for recording, but was interested in the concept of a distinct pedal dedicated to a specific genre or vibe. I am aware that Walrus Audio makes high end products, so I have no fear for the reliability of this unit. I'm also only using this (so far, at least) at home in a super safe environment. There is an available use for this live, and the sounds are very usable. The slider controls are very easy to manipulate and slide well, providing rich clouds of ambient reverb within each of the three reverb modes. It's easy to dial in a plethora of ambient sounds, and even possible to dial in some reverbs that are not as ambient by just adjusting the amount of reverb and volume of reverb. That would definitely work well with live performance with regards to what I play. It is in mono and not stereo, which might be a deal breaker for some, but for my purposes of recording it's not so much an issue. The sounds are gorgeous and huge and can be super cloudy if needed. Or, like I said, it can definitely clean up and just give you some reverb air without being overwhelming. It does seem to make everything a bit more lo-fi sounding, but I'm perfectly fine with this. In fact, it's definitely providing exactly what I wanted as a ambient reverb pedal even in its mono offering. This pedal is proof that something can be simple to operate, priced well, built well, and at a very good price point.
Sound
The sound is huge and encompassing when needed. Super, super simple to edit on the fly, no presets, everything is logical and understandable.
Features
Every feature on the pedal is useful. There are zero useless controls. All killer, no filler.
Ease of Use
Super easy to set up, use, and get extremely useful sounds from. It is mono, not stereo, and has a bit of lo-fi ambient reverb quality, but for my needs this is perfect.
Quality
The pedal is very well made. The sliders *could* potentially fail if handled by an ape, but I baby my gear so I'm not worried at all. That said, any pedal I've ever had with sliders never had issues.
Value
This pedal is significantly cheaper than other reverbs like Strymon, but a whole lot more limiting. For my needs, having the limits that the pedal presents allows me to worry more about making music and not scrolling through menus and going down rabbit holes.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to contact Walrus Audio for anything. They are extremely reputable and this is my first pedal from them. I have zero doubts regarding the reliability of their products.
The Wow Factor
I wouldn't say that this pedal is indispensable for my needs, but it fills a niche without juggling through menus and having option anxiety. Super quick and easy to use and control. Not much to figure out or understand, perfect for us guitarists!!
