Prelude: So there is was skimming zZounds for an acoustic under 1k. I needed a backup for a new years eve gig and with it being christmas holiday I had to act fast. I wanted a martin so I drove to guitar center and tried all the models in that price range. Only one of them I liked. I was eye balling the alvarez md60e (which will be a future buy). I was about to make a purchase and at last minute I decided tk search washburn. Seen this guitar, looked it up on YouTube. There are 4 or 5 videos on this guitar where its really hyped. You can tell it sounded amazing. So I hopped on it. Pros: -it projects louder than any other acoustic Ive personally played -it has those sought after tonal acoustic qualities youd expect out of a higher end guitar. Its just very pleasing to the ear. -it stays in tune! -the neck is a very comfortable and familiar in feel. Id say its comparable to the way the martin necks feel. - the built in preamp is in a good spot and the tuner is ultra responsive and accurate. -feels comfortable when playing such as the bevel on the body and the neck shape.Cons: -the action was extremely high on the guitar in a way that would make you give up playing it after a couple minutes due to major hand crampage. The bridge piece was 5/32" too high. I sanded it down and now its perfect. After that, setup was a breeze. -it comes with one cheap strap button at the bottom of the guitar. Another reason why this guitar is as cheap as it is. I installed locking strap buttons. I dont trust the integrity of the okoume neck to put a string around the head stock to hold a strap. -a con because im picky and I also understand that this is why the guitar is cheap as it is but another con for me is abs plastic for the nut and bridge. The bridge pegs are plastic as well. Eventually ill be changing all that to bone. If you are someone with the know how to set an acoustic up properly and dont mind taking the time to do so, you really cant beat this guitar. After all the adjustments made, this thing plays very nice and sounds absolutely amazing. I used the old strings that came on it to get me through set up and then put some martin 12s on it. I made a good choice getting this guitar. Hope this helps.
