Surprisingly good value! I purchased this 7/8 scale guitar for my nephew, who is just turning 11. I chose this one because I was looking for a reasonable balance of quality and price. However, having received it and played it, I am astounded by the quality and the sound. The fit and finish is perfect. Flawless workmanship and materials. And the sound is great: even, full bodied sound, with a surprising amount of bass and volume for a guitar this size. For me (an adult), this is a very handy size; it is definitely not just for kids. The provided gig bag is also well designed and well made, and it fits this guitar perfectly. I feel I have underestimated the Washburn brand, because this is really a quality instrument.

"A great little guitar"

My experience has been that anything marketed to beginners will sound flat or tinny, but the tone of this guitar is surprisingly good. It's also very playable for someone with a woman's sized hands - my other guitar is a D10S12, which sounds incredible, but is harder for me to play because of the neck size. My only complaint is that the ends of the metal frets on mine will need filing to smooth out some jaggedness, but this is a manufacturing issue and does not detract from the overall design.
Musical Background:
Guitar, mandolin, horns. I am picking these up again after being away for several years.
Musical Style:
Blues, jazz, rock, some classical.
