A great alternative to the Boss MD-200. Great sounds, easy to use, and pedalboard friendly.
I'm still spending time with this pedal but overall it sounds amazing. IMHO it's a great alternative to the Boss MD200 and possibly the 500 depending on your needs. Without going into great detail on each parameter I will say that overall it sounds warmer than the MD which I always thought had a bit of harshness to it. All the modes sound great. There's no ring mod just to be aware but I was never able to make those sound musical anyway. I'm old lol.The one and only downside is outside of MIDI or the little button in between the stomps there's no other way to change presets. For me it's not an issue but some people might be put off.
Very well built and super easy to use. Dial up the mode you want, adjust some knobs and press the little button. Boom, preset stored.
Ease of Use
It's very easy to get good sounds right away. The presets are actually all very musical and useful.
It's USA made Wampler. Built well and feels solid. The even include a TRS A midi converter cable. Are you listening Boss??????
At normal price $299 I'd say it's worth it, especially for what it can do.
Wampler has a great YouTube channel and Brian gives a great tutorial of the pedal if you need. Never had to deal with them for any other support
The Wow Factor
It's compact and packs a big punch. Every sound is very usable. I'm not much of a modulation person but I find this one to be my favorite multi-mod pedal. I wouldn't call myself a Wampler fan boi, this is currently the only one of his pedals on my board but they do make excellent pedals and I've never been disappointed with them.
