At first look, the Vorson ELPU130 Seems like the perfect combination of the playability of an electric with the benefit of not always having to plug in. I paid $189.95 for the Vintage Flame Burst. The instrument has a nice feel, and the gig bag included is a higher quality protective bag. But, as it turns out, the round hole in the middle that would normally be a SOUND hole... Well, that actually only goes in about an inch from the hole. The body is basswood, and when you strum it as an acoustic, it barely makes an audible sound. However, this sounds great plugged in!! the unit I received did have a buzz on the C string going up the fret board, so for that reason AND it not being the acoustic part of "Acoustic/Electric, I returned it the day after it was delivered. I do plan on buying the solid body electric version of this, which is the Vorson FLPUK-2. It retails on zZounds for considerably less, now listing at $139.95. I did try to look up the manufacturer, but I couldn't find them on the Internet. The customer service specialist that helped me with the return couldn't find their web address either. That is why may ratings do not include an evaluation for "manufacturer support".
