I own the Valeton GP-200R (which is basically the same as the 200... but Red!). This is a great and very capable little unit that rivals what Line 6 offers with their POD GO. It's in the budget category but that doesn't mean the unit isn't capable. The Good: Price for value - The Amp Models aren't bad, and with the ability to load your own IR's, it's very easy to dial in a good amp sound. - The workflow is very flexible, you can move what effects you want to wherever you think they should go and the effects loop allows you to move the "send" and "through" where ever you want in your signal chain. - The UI isn't too difficult to navigate (more on that later) and the desktop editor makes it really easy to get down what you need. I love the fact the amps and effects are shaped like the pedals they are trying to emulate. So if you are familiar with real pedals and amps, you'll be able to dial in a tone quickly. It has all the in's and out's you'd see in more expensive units, so I was kinda shocked seeing an effects loop, XLR out and Midi. Easy to go direct or through an amp. - Form Factor is fantastic, the back row of footswitches are taller than the ones in the front, it's easy to assign what you want the footswitches to do and the feel of the unit is super sturdy. - NAM Conversions. Yeah this thing allows you load Neural Amp Modeler captures. Keep in mind, the processing power isn't spectacular, so what you get when you load a NAM capture is Valeton's own conversion of that NAM capture. So it's a little more compressed and not as dynamic or have the top end sizzle of a full NAM or NAM A2 (like in a Headrush Flex, Core or Prime). The fact this thing allows you to even have this option at this price is still a huge win for guitar players diving into one of these. The "Not so awesome": Again, this is a budget modeler. - The effects aren't awesome? Hard to describe, they aren't terrible, there are quire a few overdrive pedals that do sound pretty dang good, the reverbs/delays and time based effects are serviceable but nothing there will wow anyone. The Pitch effects have like, really bad latency and are almost unusable. - The learning curve takes a second to get used to, the workflow makes a lot of sense once you figure out how to navigate it. This is a Chinese unit, so there are some quirks with the setup and UI that might not be as intuitive as other modelers. - The volume/expression pedal setup is kinda frustrating? it's a solid enough pedal but activating a wah or other expression effect can be challenging. The sweep of the volume pedal isn't bad to be fair, but getting this thing to click into place to use the expression effect felt like a struggle to me.Overall this is a great unit for someone diving into the modeling world and are on a budget. You have all the professional ins/outs, an intuitive enough UI, ability to use your own IR's and play NAM captures. The effects are serviceable and the unit is flexible enough to be your all in one. All cheaper than buying a Nintendo Switch II, which makes this guy a real winner.
