I’ve had the Apollo Solo for over a year and it was fantastic! Recorded my first album with it, but then decided to upgrade to the Apollo Twin X 2 and what an amazing upgrade! I love using the Avalon 737vT with the UA1176 AE along with the Pultec, it brings out the best in any mic I use with it! I love how the Twin X 2 has 2 unison preamps and line 3/4 to run a headphone preamp, along with stereo monitor outs for my monitor speakers. The near zero latency performance is outstanding as well as the hardware emulations being very accurate to the actual outboard gear!!! Universal Audio has taken me from being a mediocre engineer and producer to reaching professionalism in my home studio! I highly recommend any audio interface by Universal Audio as you can hear and see the dedicated engineering put into their gear! Mostly I recommend the Apollo Twin X 2 if you’re looking for world class results in your recordings!
Sound
Depending on what factors including your acoustical treatment of the room, microphone types, knowledge and experience, can determine the grade of quality of your recordings, however if you invest the time into learning about this interface, the results will amaze you! I have a $400 microphone that sounds like it’s over $1,000 with the right plug ins, EQ, and clean takes, you can achieve audio greatness with the Apollo Twin X 2!

Very easy to use, it is a must you learn about how to route your i/o matrix as that can be tedious at first but once you get the correct routing, you won’t believe your ears how professional it sounds!!!
