Well, first off the interface sounds great, on the mixing side in your daw there isn't much dsp to use so be prepared to get a satellite. But that won't help you while recording, the 1 sharc chip can load maybe 2 or 3 plug ins at a time depending on what your using. Some plug ins use so much dsp you can't even use one like the vocal chamber and couple others with high dsp. That really dosnt matter to me,as I dont record much live music other than a synth or sample, mainly I wanted the plug ins to use in cubase. If your going windows I'd recommend that you either have a computer with thunderbolt, buy a big rack interface and be done,or if you can upgrade your pc to thunderbolt that would be my suggestion. My computer(that I just bought) although being very powerful has mini pcie slots so I can't upgrade to a sharc card or a thunderbolt pcie card. If you absolutely must go usb 3.0,first make sure your computer has usb 3.0 as it will NOT work on usb 2.0 slot, then I'd buy the twin duo. Only has one more sharc chip for recording you'll have a little more dsp,and mixing too,but depending on what your doing and how many plug ins your using you still may need a satellite. Right now im running apollo solo on windows 11 and a apollo octo satellite. Plan to get a twin duo in the future and another octo. Better safe than sorry....
Sound
Sound quality is night/day difference when comparing sound to any other audio interface I've owned or used. You can get your synthesizer or guitar or vox,or whatever you are recording to sound like you've never heard it before the pre amps are amazing.
Ease of Use
Pretty easy to set up and use if your computer inclined. Again once you get going and moving around the daw it's pretty much seamless.
Quality
Well made product, has some weight to it,and looks pretty sleek.
Value
I dont think it's priced correctly, as the duo twin has 2 sharc chips and only 200$ more.... idk
Manufacturer Support
Haven't yet had to deal with universal audio, buy my brother has an he tells me there a pretty great company.
The Wow Factor
There is lots of allure and appeal in apollo interfaces, just do your homework and see which is best for you. Buy once, cry once.
