Absolutely amazing compression pedal. Independent attack and release unlike the Cali76, which just one way this pedal offers a bit more flexibility. Single mode might be the most transparent compressor I have ever plugged into. No hiss.. no coloration of my tone.Dual mode is squishy distortion weirdness, that could be very cool. Sustain mode sounds very close to what I get if I put the 1176 in single mode through the Model LA-2A pedal. I bought the LA-2A pedal because I was using it in all my bass presets in an HX Stomp. Then I started reading about the iconic 1176+LA-2A combo. Sustain mode on the UAX 1176 pretty much covers that sound so you can skip the UAX LA-2A if you have a UAX 1176.. I can't complain about having both on my pedalboard though. I'm set for life for compression.In the future, if I were to recommend any compression pedal to someone over anything else.. it would be the UAX 1176.
