I was a little skeptical about this one because I previously had the IR-D and even though the Overdrive was pretty good I needed something cleaner to use as a platform amp in a direct form for recording or live and let me tell you this thing is amazing...I've been using it non stop since I got it and it works amazingly well with all my pedals and even if you don't want to use pedals as an amp it's just beautiful very dynamic , tube feel , reverb sounds amazing as well as the Vibrato...I have modeleres Fractal also captures like the Nano Cortex and Tonex ....this is the real thing that you've been waiting for...Home Run!

This has been kind of a game changer for me. I use a JTM Studio combo as my main amp set as a pedal platform with overdrive coming from pedals because I need both sounds. I would prefer to get my overdrive from the amp because it sounds killer (and JTM overdrive is maybe my favorite drive sound) but doing so limits my clean tone options unless I really roll off my guitars volume which messes with where I sit in my bands mix. I've tried a Victory preamp in my effects loop but wasn't enamored with it and couldn't find any other options I liked until this came along. It's exactly what I wanted and moreRunning this into my effects loop allows me to run my Marshall JTM studio overdriven while being able to switch to the Imperials 1st channel for lush cleans (or pushed blackface sounds depending on settings) and channel 2 for nice low to mid gain tweed-ish sounds (or driven tweed or driven marshall sounds depending on settings). Channel 1 also provides me with an actual pedal platform (when set clean) to run whatever else I want l into that (hello awesome SRV and/or Mayer tones with some type of klon/TS setup). I can now cover pretty much any genre I would ever need and it all sounds fantastic and feels indistinguishable from an amp. I am really, really impressed. I've been able to actually downsize my board while significantly increasing the tones I have available. John Mayall..check. Zeppelin..check. Pink Floyd..check. Grant Green..check. Van Halen..kinda check. SRV..check. Rolling Stones..check. Red Hot Chili Peppers..check. ZZ Top..check. Billy Squier..Check. Freddie King..check. Thin Lizzy..check. Chris Stapleton..check. BB King..check. Lynyrd Skynyrd..check. You get the pointAdditionally, you get a fantastic spring that can go from subtle to all out drip that you can use with the channels of the Imperial AND with your amp. I also really appreciate the addition of a dwell knob for the reverb. Adds a lot of versatility and tweakability. I dont use the tremolo but that also can be used with the imperial channels or with your amp since its running through the effects loop. It sounds wonderful, just not a tremolo person. I enjoy the headphone out option if I want to play in the middle of the night. Sounds as good as your headphone will allow. Also really enjoy the balanced outs to be able to plug right into powered studio monitors. I was hesitant to purchase this because on the surface it's quite pricey. However, if you have an amp with an effects loop you can add so many tones to your rig while maintaining the sound and feel of a tube amp while adding tremolo and spring reverb. Obviously you can use this as an ampless setup but that's not something I do. I particularly think this into the effects loop of a Marshall style amp gives you one of the most versatile all tube setups you could get

Everything on zZounds' part was great The software with this pedal did not work at all I have a modern Mac Mini with am M Chip and this software was very disappointing For 600 dollars I would have expected much better than this!
