THE TECHNOLOGY IS WORTH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, THE UNIT IS A BIT CHEESY LOOKING THOUGH, NO RACK-MOUNT EARS.
Sound
SOUNDS SUPERB, COMPRESSION IS SUPER TIGHT AND RUBBERY, EXCELLENT TRI-BAND DESIGN.
Features
IT DOES EVERYTHING, SHORT OF GOING TO THE BATHROOM FOR YOU. YOU CAN RECORD, PRODUCE, AND PLAY LIVE WITH THIS THING, AND THE EQ, COMPRESSION, AND REVERB ARE GREATSKI. THE NEW DRIVER WAS RELEASED YESTERDAY, NOW EVERYTHING IS ROCK SOLID (AT LEAST UP TILL NOW,I HAVEN'T HAD A SINGLE DROP-OUT!) THIS IS NOW THE MOST AMAZING THING OUT THERE. NOW IT'S READY FOR MAC.
Ease of Use
DOWNLOAD THE NEW DRIVER FROM THE TC WEBSITE, AND INSTALL IT, AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST. THANKS TC FOR SUCH AN AMAZING PRODUCT. YEARS OF COMPRESSOR, AND REVERB TECHNOLOGY WENT INTO THIS THING. THE SOUND IS CLEAN AS A DIAMOND. EXCELLENT INTERNAL CLOCKS. THOSE DANES!
Quality
STILL DON'T LIKE THE PLASTIC XLR & 1/4" SOCKETS AND KNOBS, REALLY LOW END HERE, BUT ONCE IT'S HOOKED UP, I NEVER TOUCH THE THING, AND IT SEEMS UNBREAKABLE, SO HEY!
Value
I KNOW I PID FOR THE TECHNOLOGY AND SOFTWARE, NOT SO MUCH THE HARDWARE ON THIS ONE. TACKY PLUG SOCKETS, KNOBS.
Manufacturer Support
ALWAYS REPLY WITHIN 3 DAYS OF REPORTED PROBLEMS.
The Wow Factor
PRACTICAL USES ARE TEN-FOLD. NO MIXING BOARD, EQ, COMPRESSOR, DE-ESSER,REVERB NEEDED. STILL USE MY OWN MIC PRE, BUT THIS THING SOUNDS CRYSTAL CLEAN, AND IS VERY INTUITIVE FOR ALL THINGS, I LIKE THE TRI-BAND COMPRESSION THE MOST. I WILL USE IT IN EVERY TRACK I RECORD, AND THEN AGAIN ON THE MASTER OUTS SO THAT THE CLUBS REALLY PUMP. IT IS A TIGHT UNIT!

TC Konnekt Live FireWire Customer Review
Ease of Use
Drivers are horrible. I'm on the mac and it's just unusable, with glitches and crashes. The reverb and compressor features aren't worth a dime if it can't output audio reliably. Also some very poor design characteristics. For one the phones is not a discrete output seperate from the mains. This is very frustrating for anyone who uses both headphones and monitors (don't most pro's...) Also some features like the tuner are poorly implemented, apparently it will only work if you have something plugged into the front jacks, instead of having things neatly connected in the back. Same goes for the mic pre's, front jacks only, rather messy design. It's 1/2 rack space in size, but it's not rackmountable, which is stupid. How hard could it really be to make a rack rail option. These guys are ignorant when it comes to portable "live" setups, the whole point of a rack is to be able to leave everything hooked up and easily transportable.

"Konnekt Live, it's like being proud of an abortion, you can always say it would have been a wonderful child if..."
If the new driver doesn't work, then I will use my RME 8 channel. I just liked how Konnekt had EQ ,compressor, and reverb. But what good are they if it crashes every 10 minutes.
Sound
Sounds fine, EQ is a bit weak, it doesn't effect the sound that much. Compressor is cool.
Features
Features are fine, I just wish it worked.
Ease of Use
Pretty easy after about an hour of fiddling around. Problem is that the drivers are not ready for the outside world yet, I have Mac platform, and apparently there are problems with the sound crackling up/then crashing when the CPU goes around 40%. I have to turn off ableton, turn off the Konnekt, power up all over again every time, at least 5 times per 2 hour session. Drivers are not rock-solid for Mac, this is Dec.2007. Supposedly the new drivers are being tested.
Quality
Like the steel case, a little too big though compared to other products out there. Front and back of unit are crappy looking, cheap knobs, kinda sticky motion, 1/4 sockets in back are total crap. Scratch and fight to get the plugs in, really low end. Light ring is really cheesy, doesn't respond to delicate movements, lights are cruddy looking. I had to send it back for a new one twice: The first unit had a wobbly knob, the second unit wouldn't even power up. Awesome Quality Check, TC! Sounds like flumpy management to me.
Value
Still waiting for the new driver, if this thing could last through a song-writing set, I would be delighted, then I might go out and use it Live. Until then, piece of crap.
