I received my Taylor 810E Deluxe guitar today and I'm very happy that I purchased such a fine instrument. I've owned many acoustic guitars in the 48 years that I've been playing. I've owned Martin, Breedlove, Taylor & Gibson acoustics which are all good in their own ways. Personally I like both Taylor & Martin guitars. The Martin's have a full sound with a lot of bass and the Taylor guitars are brighter almost HI-FI sounding and much easier to play because of their neck/action. I have to say that this latest version of the 800 series is by far the best Taylor I have ever owned. I was really surprised when I first strummed it. The guitar was very loud and the Bass response is out of this world. The good thing is that bass, mids & treble are equal volume wise across the sonic spectrum. The build quality is second to none and the guitar is absolutely beautiful. This is one guitar that I will never part with. If you're looking at and considering purchasing this fine instrument, just buy it, you won't be sorry!

Since posting my first review of my Taylor 810E Deluxe, I've had more time to play it and become more acquainted with the instrument. I can not stress enough what a work of art this guitar is. The build quality is absolutely exceptional and the 810 is head and shoulders above the previous 800 series. The refinements that were made to this instrument put it at an entirely different level. The Adirondak bracing brings out subtle nuances in pick attack and also makes it much louder when pushed. This guitar is a cannon and much louder than previous 810 models. The forward shifted bracing, thinner woods & finish all attribute to the outstanding sound quality. I've owned Martin HD35, HD28 & D41 models and before the new 800 series came out, I would have told you that Martin guitars have a better bass response & are louder but now that I have this Taylor 810E Deluxe, that statement no longer holds true. This particular model can hold it's own with any Martin. Any die hard Martin guy may disagree with my statement but before judging, I would suggest trying the 810. Andy Powers absolutely knew what he was doing with his upgrades on this instrument. I have several very high end acoustics now besides my new 810 & I'm afraid they are going to be gathering dust now. My new 810 is now my go to acoustic guitar. I am absolutely 100% satisfied with my purchase from zZounds. I would also like to thank zZounds for the opportunity of ownership of the 810. In my book, zZounds is the cream of crop for music instrument retailing. I will never so much as to buy even a single pick from any other retailer.
