Just got this guitar from out friends here at zZounds. So easy to deal with and a great payment plan!
Back to the review! This guitar not only looks stunning but sounds stunning. I was very impressed by the overall quality, beauty and of course tone. The shaded Edgeburst definitely adds the wow factor as it is a unique Taylor finish unlike any others. And coupled with the beautiful Tasmanian Blackwood (how cool is that to have a guitar with wood from Tasmania) is simply stunning. The Ivoroid binding throughout gives it an elegant, beautiful and classic appearance as well. Thing I love about this top burst is the fact that you can see a lot of the Sitka spruce and its characteristics unlike many shaded tops. And what's cool too is the back of the neck is also shaded wonderfully. And the 500 series appointments just add elegance to this guitar. Love the fretboard Ivoride inlays too. Ebony fretboard and bridge, I could go on and on.
This guitar is a tone Goddess. It sounds amazing! Had some friends over to jam the night I got it and all my buddies didn't even wanna at their guitars after seeing and hearing mine. Ships too in a Taylor Deluxe hard shell case which is also very nice. And this comes with the brand new Taylor ES2 pickup system.
I can't speak highly enough about this guitar. It has the characteristics of rosewood, blended in with the warmth of mahogany and it provides one sweet voice that allows you to do whatever it is you want to. Whether strumming or finger picking, this is the guitar that can do it all.
