"2004 Taylor 30th Anneversary Guitar "

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This was introduced as a limited edition for the 30th anniversary of Taylor guitars. It was also the first year they installed the Expression System (ES). The ES was found only in higher end models like the 500 series, and could be ordered as a retrofit for $400. These Dreadnoughts were also the last year they used a firmer X-brace system that required medium gauge strings. After 2004, Taylor started making Dreadnoughts using light gauge strings. 2004 was a turning point for Taylor guitars, and the dawn of a new era for Taylor guitars. The 300 series was the lowest priced Taylor guitars (other than the Baby Taylor), but all that changed after 2004 when lower priced models were produced to meet the demands of the masses. It's good to know this guitar holds it's value well, and it's a great guitar with great craftsmanship.
